New to Grow
Hello! I'm Rosario, a trauma‑informed psychotherapist committed to empowering individuals and communities. I use an integrative approach that blends EMDR, CBT, and Somatic techniques to create a safe and inclusive space. Guided by your core values, I focus on fostering resilience and self‑acceptance while helping you process emotions and thoughts, reclaim your narrative, strengthen community connections, and build practical coping strategies throughout your healing journey.
On our first session, you can expect for us to take some time to see if we’re a good fit. We’ll talk about what brings you in, review key paperwork, and I’ll answer any questions about my approach so you can make an informed choice. Together, we’ll begin building trust, explore what feels most urgent, and collaborate on goals and next steps.
We’re in this together. I bring a trauma‑informed, social‑justice lens and integrate different therapeutic modalities while also using joy and grounded humor to make hard work feel safer and more human. I help you align with your values, make sense of protective patterns without shame, and build practical skills for regulation, connection, and lasting change.
I am a trauma informed social justice oriented clinician. I typically work with people and communities healing from past or complex trauma and those facing anxiety, depression, stress, or systemic oppression. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, honoring your lived experience and cultural context. We focus on processing trauma safely at your pace, building mindfulness and regulation strategies, improving daily functioning and confidence, strengthening relationships and boundaries, and deepening connection to community and values.
Other specialties
I identify as
EMDR
I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to treat past or complex trauma, as well as anxiety and depression linked to those experiences. In our work together, we start with careful preparation: building coping skills, stabilizing the nervous system, and identifying target memories or themes that feel most impactful. I then guide you through structured EMDR phases that include resourcing and bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, taps, or tones) to help your brain reprocess distressing memories, reduce the intensity of triggers, and shift unhelpful beliefs about yourself. EMDR modality is tailored to your needs and pace. My goal is to make EMDR a collaborative, empowering process that helps you feel grounded in the present, connected to yourself, and free to move forward.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical, goal-focused approach. Together, we explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, then build skills to shift unhelpful patterns. We may use tools like thought reframing, behavioral activation, exposure for anxiety, and problem-solving, with brief practice between sessions to make changes stick. Clients often notice clearer thinking, more balanced emotions, stronger confidence, and better day-to-day functioning.
Compassion Focused
My approach is curious and compassion focused. We gently map patterns in thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and behaviors as meaningful signals, not flaws. Together, we clarify your core needs and values, then use them to guide decision making, boundaries, and communication. Sessions may include mindful awareness, parts-informed dialogue, and somatic check-ins to reduce shame and increase choice.
