New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have a certificate in Perinatal Mental Health. I specialize in supporting individuals through perinatal mental health concerns, including pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety challenges. I work with clients who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, or impacted by past trauma, particularly as these experiences surface during major life transitions. Using approaches such as CBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, I help clients build emotional regulation skills, process difficult experiences, and feel more grounded and confident in themselves and their roles. My goal is to create a supportive space where clients can gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and experience meaningful, lasting change.
In the first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what’s bringing you into therapy. We’ll review your current concerns, relevant history, and what you’re hoping to gain from treatment, while also discussing any questions or hesitations you may have. I’ll explain how I work, including approaches like CBT, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, and we’ll begin identifying initial goals. This session is paced to feel comfortable and supportive—there’s no pressure to share everything at once, and we’ll move at a level that feels safe for you.
What sets my approach apart is the combination of specialized focus on perinatal mental health with a trauma-informed lens, allowing me to understand how past experiences can resurface during pregnancy and postpartum. I integrate evidence-based approaches like CBT and EMDR while prioritizing safety, pacing, and a collaborative relationship. I balance practical skill-building with deeper processing, helping clients not only manage day-to-day challenges but also work through underlying patterns. My work is grounded, supportive, and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on helping clients feel more regulated, confident, and connected in both themselves and their roles. I have a Perinatal Mental Health Certificate. I am fully trained to provide EMDR therapy, and I am currently in the certification process to advance my EMDR skill set.
My ideal client is someone navigating the perinatal period who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, mood changes, or the emotional impact of past experiences. Many have a history of trauma that is resurfacing during pregnancy or postpartum, affecting their sense of self, relationships, or parenting. They are open to exploring these patterns and motivated to feel more regulated, present, and confident. I especially enjoy incorporating EMDR to help clients process distressing experiences, reduce emotional reactivity, and support a more grounded, connected transition into parenthood.
EMDR
I integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into treatment to help clients process distressing experiences that continue to impact current functioning. Using a structured, phased approach, I support clients in identifying target memories, building internal resources, and reprocessing experiences through bilateral stimulation to reduce emotional intensity and shift negative beliefs. EMDR is used alongside other therapeutic approaches to promote adaptive coping, improve emotional regulation, and support lasting symptom relief.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors. Through a structured, goal-oriented approach, I work with clients to reframe negative thinking, develop healthier perspectives, and implement practical coping strategies. CBT is integrated into treatment to improve emotional regulation, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and support lasting behavioral change.
Trauma Informed Care
I practice from a trauma-informed care framework by recognizing the impact of past and current trauma on a client’s emotional, behavioral, and relational functioning. I prioritize creating a safe, collaborative, and empowering therapeutic environment while integrating strategies that support regulation, resilience, and skill-building. Treatment is guided by sensitivity to triggers and pacing, helping clients process experiences while maintaining a sense of stability and control.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify strengths, clarify goals, and focus on practical solutions rather than problems. This approach emphasizes what is already working and supports clients in building on existing resources to create meaningful change. Through collaborative, goal-oriented conversations, I help clients develop actionable steps to improve functioning and achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner.
