My name is Ashley Davis, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor in Tennessee. I also hold a doctorate of Counselor Education and Supervision and teach in a counseling program. I have worked in the mental health field for eight years in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, and crisis services. In addition to providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I also provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
In our first session together, my goal is to understand your experience and the challenges that you are facing. This will help us to work together to create goals for treatment and identify a path towards healing.
Let's work together to regain control of your life. Do you experience intense emotional reactions? Maybe you feel that you are unable to control these emotions. Your emotions led to impulsive and self-destructive behaviors. These behaviors make you feel inadequate, cause problems in your relationships, or difficulty at work. They led to a life of misery and suffering. You don’t have to continue to suffer. We can work together to regain control of your life, reduce suffering, and improve relationships. There is lasting healing.
I have a passion for working with individuals who are struggling with perinatal mood disorders, personality disorders, and/or have experienced trauma. I strive to provide a collaborative and integrative approach by working alongside your other providers to work towards healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
I have been utilizing DBT in my practice to help individuals navigate overwhelming emotions and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. This evidence-based therapy is especially effective for individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation, self-harming behaviors, and relationship difficulties. With over nine years of specialized training and hands-on experience in DBT, I have supported many clients in overcoming intense emotions, reducing impulsive behaviors, and improving their relationships. Whether in individual therapy or group settings, I guide clients toward greater self-acceptance and emotional resilience. My goal is to empower individuals to move from just surviving to truly thriving, cultivating a life worth living.
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapeutic approach designed to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. EMDR works by helping clients reprocess distressing memories in a safe and structured way, reducing the emotional intensity of these experiences. Using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, we engage the brain's natural healing processes to foster resilience and recovery. For the past eight years, I have successfully used EMDR to support clients in navigating a range of trauma-related challenges. My practice has included work with individuals facing attachment-related trauma, longstanding emotional pain from complex trauma, as well as single-event and birth traumas. Through EMDR, I help clients release the grip of past distress, restore a sense of emotional stability, and reclaim a sense of safety and control in their lives.
