Greetings!! My name is Latrice Stowe and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work in 2006 and have a wealth of experience in child welfare, foster care/adoptions, mental health working with at risk youth, hospice care and working with individuals who have challenges with anxiety, grief, trauma, and depression to name a few. I presently work for the school system as a Mental Health & Wellness Facilitator while I build my private practice. If you are looking for someone who is graced with compassion, who will provide a safe space for you to share your thoughts and genuinely listen and work with you to
In our first session together, we will begin with brief introductions and I will provide an opportunity for you to share why you have chosen to come to therapy at this time and what goals you wish to achieve.
My greatest strength is my ability to actively listen without judgement. My role is to create a safe space to help you work through issues and guide you in your decision on what is the best plan of action needed to help you achieve your goal.
I am truly passionate about working with teenagers and young adults who are trying to navigate there way through life. Life can be challenging and I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has the capacity to live and be their best selves with guidance, encouragement and support. I also have found a passion for working with elderly patients, especially those navigating through the last stages of life.
Have you ever heard the quote, "you are what you think?" I enjoy helping my clients identify how their thoughts, believes, and perceptions impact their behaviors. I help support my clients to make necessary positive changes to their thought patterns so that they can improve their behaviors, and ultimately, how they feel about themselves.
As a therapist, Motivational Interviewing is a person centered approach which allows me to elicit and support a person's motivation to change. Clients are given an opportunity to voice their reasons for change.
it's so easy to get caught up in our day to day responsibilities and stressors. Mindfulness allows my clients to develop awareness of their thoughts, emotions, feelings, surroundings and situations by practicing present moment awareness, meditation and breathing exercises.
