About me

I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where clients feel heard, respected and empowered. Using various therapeutic approaches, I tailor sessions to each individual's unique needs and goals. Together, we identify strengths, build practical coping skills and process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe, and work toward lasting, meaningful change. I believe healing is not about being perfect - it's about making progress, building resilience, and creating the life that you want. Whether you're seeking relief from emotional distress or looking to grow personally, I am committed to supporting you throughout your journey. Let's get started!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. We'll spend time talking about what brings you to counseling, the experiences that have shaped your life, and the people, relationships, and values that are most important to you. Understanding your unique story helps me provide care that is personalized and meaningful. If you've been in therapy before, we'll also discuss your previous experiences by exploring what you found helpful or what wasn't as beneficial. This allows us to build on what has worked for you and tailor our work together to better meet your needs. We'll also explore what you hope to gain from counseling. Together, we'll identify your goals, clarify what progress looks like to you and develop a plan that aligns with your priorities.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe effective therapy involves both compassion and growth. I will hold space for your emotions, validate your experiences, and honor your unique journey while also gently encouraging you to consider new perspectives, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and explore different ways of responding to life's challenges. My approach balances acceptance with meaningful change, helping you move forward at a pace that feels both supportive and empowering.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to take meaningful steps towards improving their mental and emotional well-being. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges or just "feeling stuck". While change can feel intimidating, they are open to exploring their experiences and developing healthier ways of thinking, coping and responding to life's challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I may use CBT to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feeling, and behaviors, utilizing. This can include the use of journaling, mindfulness and more.

Motivational Interviewing

MI may be used to help us explore your own motivation for change in a supportive and nonjudgmental way. Rather than telling you what to do, we will clarify your personal goals, explore any ambivalence you may feel, and strengthen your reasons for making changes that align with your values.

Trauma Informed Care

By utilizing a trauma-informed approach in session, I strive to recognize that past trauma can shape how you may think, feel and respond in the present. I prioritize creating a sense of safety, choice and collaboration where you will never be pushed to share more than you are ready to. I will pay close attention to how certain topics or experiences may impact you emotionally, and will work together to ensure that therapy feels supportive rather than overwhelming. We will also spend time focusing on your strengths, resilience and ability to heal, not only on symptoms or difficulties.

Psychoeducation

I may incorporate psychoeducation by providing information and guidance to help you better understand what you are experiencing and why. Psychoeducation is used to normalize experiences, reduce self-blame and identify practical tools to better manage symptoms.

Strength-Based

We will intentionally focus on your existing strengths, skills, values and past successes, not just the challenges you may be facing.
