Debra Romanelli
Ideal clients
The person who may benefit most from participating in therapy with me is someone who is struggling with confidence, maybe navigating a life transition that they are unsure of or unsure of their ability to manage it. Their uncertainty and/or insecurity could be rooted in negative childhood experience, difficult interpersonal relationships, or simply general anxiety about new situations. We could explore grieving certain parts of themselves and/or developing new parts of themselves.
Treatment methods
Relational
Relational therapy is based on the idea that mutually satisfying relationships with others are necessary for one’s emotional well-being. This type of psychotherapy takes into account the ways in which social and familial factors relate to the relationships in a person’s life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT aims to help people develop skills they can use in their daily lives to effectively manage emotions, maintain or improve interpersonal relationships, tolerate distress, and avoid behaviors that are harmful or detrimental to their quality of life.
Strength-Based
Strength-based therapy is talk therapy that guides a person toward retelling your personal history of traumas, stressors, and pain with more emphasis on yourself as a survivor than as a victim, and more emphasis on your strengths and survival skills than on your weakness.
