New to Grow
My name is Stephanie O'Neill and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. After many years of working in the nonprofit world, I entered the mental health field to help individuals more closely. I have worked in a community mental health setting and have experience with clients of different ages and diagnoses. My approach is warm and relational and focused on supporting you toward your goals.
In our first session, I will ask to get to know you and your story, what brought you to therapy, and your goals. My aim is for you to feel comfortable sharing at your pace, and feeling free to ask any questions that help you feel more secure about the therapeutic relationship.
I provide a supportive environment to help you gain greater insight, clarity, and encouragement to live the life you want to live. I help troubleshoot the areas of your life where you feel stuck and explore ways you can move forward to live with greater joy and ease. Clients I have worked with report that they feel genuinely cared for, and value the relationship we have formed.
I aim to help individuals live more freely in all areas of their life (i.e. relationships, work, family, etc.) and to develop a healthy sense of self that better serves them across all environments. I have experiencing helping clients through life transitions, and those suffering with depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and relationship difficulties. I wish to help clients motivated to change in their substance use journey, encouraging them in their commitment to live according to their goals and to improve their overall health. I empower clients to see their own inherent goodness as the catalyst for change in their life. I look forward to working with you!
Psychodynamic
Part of understanding ourselves involves understanding our past and how it shapes and impacts our current reality. I use a psychodynamic approach to increase personal insight, allowing us to then focus on solutions for the changes you wish to make in your life.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I focus on building an authentic relationship can where you can feel comfortable to be yourself and present to therapy as you really are.
