During your first encounter with Venus, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where your story truly matters. The initial session is focused on getting to know you as a whole person—not just your symptoms. Venus will conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which includes discussing your current concerns, emotional experiences, medical and mental health history, lifestyle factors, and any personal goals you may have for treatment. She takes time to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions to gain a clear and accurate understanding of your needs. This first visit is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past, and express any preferences or concerns about treatment. Venus believes in a collaborative approach, so you will be actively involved in creating a plan that feels realistic and aligned with your values. By the end of the session, you can expect a clearer understanding of potential diagnoses (if applicable), initial treatment recommendations, and next steps. These may include therapy, lifestyle strategies, and/or medication options when appropriate. Most importantly, you can expect to feel heard, respected, and supported as you begin your journey toward improved mental wellness and a more fulfilling life.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to build genuine, trusting relationships with my patients. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel comfortable being open and honest about their experiences. With over 12 years of psychiatric nursing experience, I bring both clinical expertise and deep compassion to every encounter. I take a collaborative and patient-centered approach, working alongside each individual to develop thoughtful, personalized treatment plans. I am attentive, thorough in my assessments, and committed to ensuring that each diagnosis and intervention is both accurate and meaningful. What stands out about my approach is my commitment to treating the “whole person.” I look beyond symptoms to understand the emotional, social, spiritual, and lifestyle factors that impact mental health. This allows me to create flexible, well-rounded care plans that support long-term growth and stability. I integrate supportive psychotherapy with psychoeducation, helping patients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while equipping them with practical coping strategies. My style is warm, engaging, and empowering. I encourage patients to take an active role in their care while providing guidance and clinical insight every step of the way. My goal is not only symptom relief, but also helping individuals build resilience, improve daily functioning, strengthen relationships, and achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adolescents and adults navigating life’s everyday challenges and transitions. I am best positioned to support individuals dealing with stress related to school or work, job loss, family conflict, and difficulties with setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. I also work with clients experiencing mood disorders, social anxiety, and ADHD, helping them build practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen self-awareness. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented, creating a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, develop healthier thought patterns, and gain confidence in managing life’s demands. While I offer medication management when appropriate, I do not prescribe controlled substances, and I emphasize therapeutic strategies, psychoeducation, and non-controlled medication options to support overall well-being.
