New to Grow
Hi, I'm Danielle! I am a dedicated mental health counselor with a warm, down-to-earth, and approachable style. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and openly exploring their experiences. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices, while remaining flexible to meet each client’s unique needs. I bring extensive experience working with individuals with severe mental illness, along with over 8 years in addiction treatment, which has shaped my ability to truly meet clients where they are in their journey. Growing up in New York City has influenced my perspective and approach—I value authenticity, resilience, and real, honest connection, and I’m comfortable working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I believe in building a genuine therapeutic relationship rooted in empathy, respect, and transparency. I also understand the importance of connection, comfort, and unconditional support, which I carry into my work with clients. Together, we focus on building insight, developing practical coping skills, and creating meaningful, lasting change.
During our first session, you can expect a relaxed and supportive conversation focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, personal history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll also share more about my approach and answer any questions you may have, so you feel comfortable and informed. This session is a chance for us to begin building a strong, collaborative foundation at a pace that feels right for you.
What sets my approach apart is my ability to combine evidence-based practices with authenticity, flexibility, and real-world understanding. I value honesty, collaboration, and building a strong therapeutic relationship, helping clients not only gain insight but also develop the skills needed to navigate challenges and create lasting change. I have a deep sense of empathy and a strong understanding of what it feels like to experience emotions intensely, which allows me to connect with clients on a meaningful level. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, navigate those emotions, and ultimately reclaim a sense of control, identity, and confidence in your life.
I am best positioned to support individuals who are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives, even if they feel unsure where to begin. I work well with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and recovery, particularly those seeking to build healthier coping skills, improve emotional awareness, and strengthen their sense of stability and purpose. My ideal clients are open to self-reflection and growth, and are looking for a supportive, collaborative space to process challenges, set goals, and create lasting, positive change.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build practical skills for lasting change. Through a collaborative and structured approach, clients gain insight into the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, empowering them to make meaningful progress. My goal is to create a supportive, goal-oriented space where clients can grow, learn, and succeed both in and outside of therapy.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. By using open-ended questions, reflective listening, and collaborative goal-setting, I empower clients to strengthen their own motivation and commitment to growth. This client-centered approach fosters autonomy, builds confidence, and supports lasting, meaningful change aligned with each client’s values.
