Abby Consolo
As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to help individuals feel whole again. I understand that starting therapy can be one of the most difficult steps, so congratulations on taking that important first step. Before transitioning into private practice, I worked as a school counselor. I made the shift so I could dedicate more time to supporting individuals on a deeper level.
I understand that starting therapy can be one of the most difficult steps, so congratulations on taking that important first step.
I currently work with adults 18 and older who are navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, or the unique challenges that come with complex learning disabilities. I'm here to offer a compassionate, supportive space as you begin your journey toward healing and growth.
First session
In our work together, clients often walk away with a deeper sense of self-awareness, practical tools for managing stress and emotions, and a renewed confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered—both in and beyond the therapy room.
Strengths
I take a person-centered approach, tailoring each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of every client. Together, we’ll create a safe, supportive space to explore what’s been weighing on you. Through this process, you’ll gain clarity, build resilience, and deepen your self-understanding. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is a young adult or adult who is open to personal growth and wants to better understand themselves, their emotions, and their behaviors. I enjoy working with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, communication, or life transitions. My ideal client is willing to explore their challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful change at their own pace. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to build confidence and navigate life’s challenges.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier perspectives. Through practical strategies and skill-building, I help clients strengthen coping skills, manage anxiety and stress, improve emotional regulation, and feel more confident navigating everyday challenges. My approach is supportive and individualized to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
