LPC6 years of experience

I believe therapy works best when we approach healing holistically — caring for the mind, body, and soul. I practice what I preach and serve people the way I'd want to be treated creating a space where clients feel accepted, understood, and supported as they work toward meaningful growth and lasting change. I myself value reflection, writing, creativity, movement, nutrition, and time outdoors as important parts of my own personal growth. A unique part of my story is completing the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail in 2018, an experience that continues to shape how I view life and counseling. I often think of life as a series of mountain ranges — while we cannot stay on the mountaintops forever, we can learn how to navigate the valleys with resilience, purpose, and support.

First session

The first session is primarily an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust and understanding. Outside of completing any initial paperwork or documentation, my goal is to better understand what feels stuck, what challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. I want to hear your story, understand your experiences, and learn more about what has brought you to this point. From there, we begin exploring what meaningful change could look like for you specifically. Together, we will start identifying goals, patterns, strengths, and areas for growth while creating an approach that fits your personality, needs, and pace. I view therapy as a collaborative process, so the first session is less about having everything figured out and more about beginning the process of building a path forward that feels realistic, supportive, and sustainable.

Strengths

What often stands out about my approach is the balance of curiosity, insight, creativity, and patience I bring into the counseling process. I enjoy helping clients make meaningful connections between their experiences, emotions, relationships, and patterns in ways that can feel clarifying and life-changing. Rather than rushing toward quick fixes or unrealistic expectations, I believe lasting growth happens through intentional, steady progress and deeper self-understanding. I aim to help clients build a realistic and sustainable bridge toward their goals, especially when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. My approach is thoughtful and collaborative, allowing space for reflection, exploration, and creativity while still helping clients move forward with purpose. I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe enough to slow down, become more aware of themselves, and develop meaningful change that lasts beyond the therapy room.

Ideal clients

My work is especially well-suited for clients seeking greater self-awareness, emotional insight, healthier relationships, and lasting internal change. I enjoy helping clients explore the deeper layers beneath behaviors, anxiety, conflict, avoidance, or emotional pain so they can better understand themselves with compassion rather than judgment. Through this process, clients often begin to feel more grounded, connected, and authentic — not only feeling seen and heard within therapy, but also learning how to truly know, understand, and trust themselves.

Treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help clients develop greater self-awareness, inner peace, and emotional balance. Through this approach, clients learn to better understand the different “parts” of themselves that may carry pain, protective patterns, or past experiences. IFS can be especially helpful in processing trauma, strengthening differentiation, and creating healthier ways of relating to oneself and others. My goal is to help clients move beyond limiting narratives, access deeper self-compassion, and approach their experiences from a more creative, empowered, and connected perspective.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I utilize Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), to help clients develop a healthier relationship with anxiety, uncertainty, and distress. Through a structured and supportive process, clients learn to recognize avoidance patterns, reduce compulsive behaviors, and build confidence in their ability to tolerate discomfort without relying on control-based responses. I integrate ERP in a collaborative and approachable way, helping clients gain practical tools, increase psychological flexibility, and experience greater freedom in daily life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop greater psychological flexibility, self-awareness, and resilience. ACT focuses on learning how to respond to difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences with openness rather than avoidance or self-judgment. Through mindfulness, values-based exploration, and practical behavioral strategies, clients are encouraged to build a more meaningful and intentional life while staying connected to what matters most. I often integrate ACT to help clients navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, identity development, and personal growth with greater clarity, acceptance, and purpose.

Christian Counseling

My faith informs the way I approach counseling through compassion, humility, grace, and deep respect for each person’s story and lived experience. While I offer Christian counseling for clients who desire the integration of faith into the therapeutic process, I strive to create a space that feels safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental for people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. I do not impose my values or beliefs on clients; rather, I seek to meet each person where they are and support their goals in a way that honors their autonomy, dignity, and personal journey.
