Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first visit via telehealth with Oasis Behavioral Health & Wellness, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space. We will talk about what your needs are, and establish some goals to help you meet your needs. In this session we'll touch on your past, and focus on your present concerns- the symptoms that you are experiencing. I'll ask you about yours and your family's medical and mental health history. This is called an assessment, it allows me to understand your psychological, emotional, physical, and social well-being. We will establish a treatment plan that is tailored to help you achieve your goals. Your treatment plan may or may not include taking medications. However, based on the findings of the assessment, an evidenced-based treatment plan is formulated with your input. This visit is about gathering information about you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis, establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship, and working together to create a plan that is tailored towards your individual needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance between clinical expertise and genuine human connection. I prioritize building a trusting, collaborative relationship where you feel heard, respected, and involved in every step of your treatment. My approach is holistic and integrative—I consider not just your symptoms, but your life experiences, environment, and your goals. Whether through medication management, supportive therapy, or lifestyle interventions, I tailor treatment to fit you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Compassion, cultural sensitivity, and empowerment are at the core of my practice, this is evidence by my commitment to the therapeutic relationship, individualize care and patient collaboration I provide, as I help you along your mental wellness journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client (35-65+ yrs old) is someone who is open to change, you might not know where to start; I'm here to help you figure it out. You may be navigating anxiety, insomnia, stress, challenges with substance use or just feeling overwhelmed with life. If you are looking for someone to validate your feelings in a safe supportive space where you feel heard, and understood without judgment, I'm here to help. If you are opened to a personalized approach that may include medication management, brief therapy and support towards lifestyle changes, this is what I offer. Most importantly, my ideal client is willing to show up for themselves, understanding that attaining mental wellness is a continuous active process that involves daily choices. Choices that build resilience, foster emotional regulation, and improve your overall functioning.

My treatment methods

Supportive

I have experience using supportive therapy with clients facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, and substance use disorder. I use supportive therapy to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to cope with their current struggles. I focus on reinforcing their strengths, providing emotional support, and helping them develop practical coping strategies to improve daily functioning and their overall well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT therapy to empower my clients to manage anxiety, depression and other psychiatric disorders. This evidence-based approach teaches the client to become more self-aware helping them to recognize the connections between their thoughts, feelings and actions. CBT helps the client identify and challenge cognitive distortions that contribute to their mental health symptoms. The client is equipped with coping skills to help them manage their psychiatric disorder more effectively. I use of CBT along with medication management as it provides a more comprehensive treatment approach, supporting symptom relief and long-term recovery.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help my clients move forward by defining the changes they want to accomplish. I help them set small specific goals that are attainable. The clients are guided so that they focus on the solution without the limitations of the problem. I offer encouragement and reassurance to let them know that they already have the solution. I monitor their progress, and their strengths and successes are reinforced. SFBT in conjunction with medication management helps that client who is feeling overwhelmed or "stuck" to celebrate the small wins. SFBT allows my client to see that the situation is manageable, this empowers them to be more involved in their treatment plan.
