Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You can expect a warm and inviting space that is empathic to your experience, yet relaxed and informal. In our first session, I will ask about your life history that has contributed to your present concerns for treatment. I may ask questions about your personal history for context, however, shift towards focusing on what is most imperative to seeking therapy currently. I hope to explore your concerns in order to develop goals that are most relevant to you and inform your treatment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

All of our unique life experiences shape us to be the person we are today. Life isn't a one-size-fit-all approach so mental shouldn't be either. I use a tailored approach to address your specific needs for treatment because there is only one you. I pull upon methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and more. Methods I have experience from support treatment of depression, anxiety, substance use disorder, emotional regulation and coping skill development.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with individuals who are navigating emotional challenges related to life transitions, work-related stress, relationship concerns, loss and grief, as well as symptoms of anxiety and depression. I am passionate about supporting clients in developing greater emotional stability and a deeper understanding of themselves. The clients I typically serve may be experiencing situational stressors or more longstanding emotional patterns that impact their daily functioning and relationships. Therapy is a meaningful and collaborative process, and the growth clients experience is often reflective of the effort they invest both in and outside of sessions. I encourage the application of insights and skills in everyday life to support lasting change. Through our work together, clients can expect to feel more grounded in their sense of self, improve communication and relationship patterns, increase self-awareness, and strengthen their ability to effectively navigate and respond to stress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy when a client presents with patterns of thinking that are typically contributing to depressive and anxious states. With time and consistency, more adaptive patterns of thinking will replace negative patterns. When client's apply this they experience mood improvement and healthy changes in their behavior. While CBT is one treatment method I utilize in practice, I do not believe in a one-size-fits all approach to treatment. This is why I may utilize more than one method and tailor interventions that suit your specific needs.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I utilize mindfulness based therapy when a client typically find themselves experiencing obsessive patterns of thinking or frequently lost in distressing thoughts. They may frequently report feeling emotionally numb or experience the opposite of intensely distressing emotions. Mindfulness based interventions in practice may take the form of using breathing strategies, meditation and/or gentle physical activity. These interventions guide a client's awareness to connect with the present moment and with consistency it results in becoming more cognitively present, emotionally balanced and increase overall wellbeing. While mindfulness-based therapy is one treatment method I utilize in practice, I do not believe in a one-size-fits all approach to treatment. This is why I may utilize more than one method and tailor interventions that suit your specific needs.
