Nice to meet you! I am excited to partner with you in your journey to improved mental health and wellbeing. I possess five years experience supporting individuals overcome presenting concerns such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorder(s) and bereavement. In received my Master's degree in Social Work from Simmons University in Boston, MA. I have spent the past five years committed to the psychotherapeutic treatment of adults living in the New York City area.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will start off by exploring your relevant life history that has contributed to your presenting concerns for treatment. I will utilize this information to assess your specific needs for treatment. Following our initial assessment session(s), we will partner together to develop a treatment plan and interventions to address your specific needs throughout the course of your therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

All of our unique life experiences shape us to be the person we are today. Mental health treatment should never be a one size, style or intervention fits all approach. This is why I utilize a person-centered approach for treatment - there is only one you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

The individuals I serve are typically faced with daily stressors, symptoms of anxiety and depression getting in the way of their day to day functioning. I support individual by allowing them to re-establish their sense of hope, self-worth and motivation toward positive growth and change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy when a client presents with patterns of thinking that are typically contributing to depressive and anxious states. With time and consistency, more adaptive patterns of thinking will replace negative patterns. When client's apply this they experience mood improvement and healthy changes in their behavior. While CBT is one treatment method I utilize in practice, I do not believe in a one-size-fits all approach to treatment. This is why I may utilize more than one method and tailor interventions that suit your specific needs.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I utilize mindfulness based therapy when a client typically find themselves experiencing obsessive patterns of thinking or frequently lost in distressing thoughts. They may frequently report feeling emotionally numb or experience the opposite of intensely distressing emotions. Mindfulness based interventions in practice may take the form of using breathing strategies, meditation and/or gentle physical activity. These interventions guide a client's awareness to connect with the present moment and with consistency it results in becoming more cognitively present, emotionally balanced and increase overall wellbeing. While mindfulness-based therapy is one treatment method I utilize in practice, I do not believe in a one-size-fits all approach to treatment. This is why I may utilize more than one method and tailor interventions that suit your specific needs.
