Hello, I’m Evelyn. Are you struggling with your child’s behavior or looking to learn positive parenting strategies? Are you navigating significant life changes or feeling overwhelmed? Are you interested in learning how to maintain work-life balance? I support children, youth, young adults and parents navigate significant life changes, relationship issues, learn effective communication, alleviate anxiety and with living in alignment with their core values. I practice with unconditional positive regard and non-judgmentally so that when my clients are in counseling sessions, they feel accepted, comfortable and safe. As a trauma informed and culturally humble social worker, I take into account that although you are an individual showing up to a counseling session, you are part of varying systems that have undoubtedly impacted who you are. You are part of a family, community, culture--all of which should be taken into account with respect and without assumptions. I realize that starting or continuing your counseling journey may be scary but, I am glad you are here. We are all deserving of healing and spaces where we can be brave. If you are ready, please know that I’ll implement evidence-based approaches and will meet you where you’re at with gratitude and compassion.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have 10 years of experience working with children, youth, young adults and parents both in clinical and school-based settings. I use a trauma informed approach, and always consider clients' intersectionality which can include family dynamics, community, socio-economic status, race, sexual orientation, gender identity and spiritual practices. I am a reflective listener and let my clients lead the way. I am compassionate, empathetic and also know how to gently challenge unhelpful thinking or habits. When working with children, I consider their age and developmental stage. I use positive reinforcement, play, art and mindfulness practices to engage them.
