“The journey of 1,000 miles starts with a single step”. This is my philosophy behind therapy. My role as your therapist is to help you undo negative patterns in your life that keep you from thriving. As your therapist, I will function as the navigation while you remain the driver. My role in the therapeutic relationship is to empower my clients to identify current patterns that may be unhealthy, process them, and create new patterns to enhance their life. Once my client is able to identify the core problem causing their negative patterns, we will work to implement new patterns to improve the overall functioning of you: the client. I like to remind my clients that they are the “expert” in their own lives and I enjoy reminding my clients that they are in charge of their journey. If you are ready for the challenge, then I am ready to support you on your journey.
During the first session, we will work to build rapport with one another and identify a treatment goal for effective f/u sessions. I will assist you with managing the fear of starting therapy and answer any questions/concerns you have concerning the therapeutic alliance.
I use the following methods in therapy: CBT, DBT, Person- Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, Strength Based, gender-based therapy and Homework. I will often assess anxiety/depression using GAD-7 and PHQ-9 regularly.
As a therapist, I listen to my client’s needs before offering any insight into their problems. I tend to ask clients questions to clarify treatment goals and to track progress in therapy.
My specialty is working with clients who feel "stuck" and have difficulty applying appropriate coping skills to live freely as they are.
