Christina Doss

PMHNP (she/her)3 years of experience

Christina Doss, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I work with adults, young adults, and adolescents across Ohio battling with ADHD, anxiety, depression,burnout-trauma, focus, concentration and life transitions, including academic, career, relational, parenting stressors, grief, and reproductive , postpartum or hormonal changes. I also have experience recognizing when anxiety or depression may be connected to underlying ADHD, especially in women navigating hormonal transitions or when academic, career, or parenting demands begin to increase. What often feels like overwhelm in these moments can be a mix of nervous system overload and ADHD becoming more apparent. I also support individuals transitioning from higher levels of care, such as PHP or IOP, and those seeking more consistent, personalized support. As an independent provider, I offer a more flexible, individualized approach to care. I take the time to understand what is truly going on rather than rushing through appointments. Care is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based medication management and psychotherapy, with a focus on helping you build stability, insight, and practical tools in a calm, nonjudgmental space.

First session

In our first session, you can expect a calm, judgment-free space to share your story at your own pace. If your nervous system has been feeling overwhelmed or dysregulated, we’ll take time to slow things down and make sense of what’s been going on. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to understand your history and what you’re hoping for moving forward. My goal is for you to feel seen, supported, and more at ease as we begin, moving at a pace that feels right for you.

Strengths

My approach is warm, intentional, and individualized. I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive psychotherapy, taking the time to understand what is truly going on rather than rushing to treat symptoms alone. Care is collaborative and focused on building insight, strengthening coping skills, improving day-to-day functioning, and helping you feel more grounded and like yourself again.

Ideal clients

I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, burnout, and life transitions. Many of my clients are college students, professionals, men, and parents feeling overwhelmed by increasing demands and looking for clarity, focus, and relief. I have a strong interest in helping individuals better understand ADHD, especially when it presents alongside anxiety or depression. I also support individuals during perinatal and postpartum periods, as well as those experiencing hormonal or major life changes that impact mood, focus, and overall well-being. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to grow, build self-esteem and self-worth, and become the best version of themselves. Together, we focus on developing insight, stability, and practical tools to help you feel more in control and move toward your goals with confidence.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you better understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work on developing healthier, more helpful ways of thinking and responding. I focus on practical tools you can use in your daily life to feel more in control and supported.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to support clients in exploring their goals, values, and readiness for change, including around treatment and medication. I provide a collaborative, nonjudgmental space to help resolve ambivalence, strengthen motivation, and empower clients to make informed decisions about their care.

Trauma-Informed Care

I take a trauma-informed approach, creating a safe and supportive space where you feel heard and understood. I recognize how past experiences can impact current challenges and work with you at your own pace to build coping skills, resilience, and a greater sense of stability.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients develop acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings while building skills to take meaningful action aligned with their values.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate DBT-informed strategies into my work, focusing on emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness skills. These approaches help clients build resilience, reduce impulsivity, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress
