New to Grow
Hi, I’m Janelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion. I work with teens, young adults, and adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or simply trying to adjust to a new season of life. I have a special interest in supporting women through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. These experiences can bring a mix of emotions that are often difficult to carry alone, and I strive to create a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout the process. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and IFS while tailoring therapy to each client’s individual needs and goals. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-based counseling that incorporates Christian principles into the therapeutic process. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space to be honest, explore patterns, build healthier coping skills, and move toward meaningful growth. I value a growth mindset and work alongside clients to help them develop resilience, deepen self-awareness, and create lasting change in their lives and relationships. Reaching out for support can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to navigate things alone. I look forward to being part of your journey.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, supportive therapeutic relationship. We will review intake paperwork, discuss your background and current concerns, and explore what brought you to therapy at this point in your life. We’ll also talk about your goals, expectations for therapy, and what you hope to gain from the process. Together, we will begin identifying areas to focus on and create a plan that feels supportive, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.
My strengths as a therapist include creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to be themselves. I value authenticity, empathy, and building strong therapeutic relationships while balancing compassion with practical tools and accountability for growth. I am skilled at helping clients navigate life transitions, process complex emotions, increase self-awareness, and develop healthier coping strategies in a way that feels collaborative and personalized to their individual needs.
I enjoy working with teens, young adults, and adults navigating life transitions, as these seasons of life often bring both challenges and opportunities for growth. I am especially passionate about supporting women through infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, helping them process emotions, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves during periods of significant change. I value a growth-minded approach to therapy, where clients are encouraged to develop self-awareness, embrace progress over perfection, and build the tools needed to navigate life with greater confidence and intention.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, understand how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier coping strategies. Through practical tools, skill-building, and goal-oriented interventions, clients learn to make meaningful changes that support emotional well-being and daily functioning.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach supports clients in managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and creating balance between acceptance and change in a compassionate, structured way.
Christian Counseling
I use Christian counseling to integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches with faith-based principles for clients who desire spiritual support as part of their healing process. This approach may include exploring biblical values, strengthening spiritual wellness, and incorporating prayer or faith-centered reflection to support emotional growth, resilience, and overall well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation for change, and build confidence in their ability to reach personal goals. Through a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach, clients are supported in identifying their own values, increasing self-awareness, and making meaningful behavioral changes at their own pace.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients develop psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions rather than avoiding them. Through mindfulness, values exploration, and behavior change strategies, clients are supported in creating a more meaningful and values-driven life.
