Hi there! So glad you are reaching out to look for counseling! My name is Kerrie and I've been working as a counselor for over 10 years! I work with a diverse group of people, and have experience working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, substance misuse, trauma, life transitions, family estrangement, and overall stress, amongst many other presenting problems. I'm dedicated to working collaboratively and in an affirming manner with you to help you reach your goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

When we first meet, we will do so on a HIPAA compliant platform. We will spend a few minutes getting to know one another and will then complete paperwork. I will them ask more pointed questions to get to know you and your concerns better. Finally, we will discuss goals and how I can best help.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is my sense of humor, warm presence, ability to hear and speak to the unspoken thoughts and feelings in a person's experience, and my extensive mindfulness training and practices.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best position to serve you if you are struggling with burnout, feelings of worthlessness, misplaced guilt, overwhelming stress, and/or feeling lost. I can help if you've lived through difficult events and have trouble getting back to yourself, or if you feel as though you have lost your identify is major life changes like parenthood or marriage. I can also be a resource if you've had negative past experiences with helpers and are looking for someone who is safe, affirming, and will not place personal values or beliefs on you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I work with clients to identify beliefs, thoughts, and feelings that are not helping them achieve their goals and then change them. I do this through and integrative method, including family systems exploration, mindfulness-based skills, and reframing.

EMDR

I work with clients who have lived through difficult events to reprocess the memories and no longer feel disturbed by the event.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I work with client to learn and implement mindfulness-based skills to reduce suffering and increase acceptance.
