Is life passing you by, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of a change? Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or relationship challenges? You don’t have to navigate these feelings alone—I’m here to help you find peace, healing, and clarity. I’m April Jefferson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience helping individuals, families, and groups work through life’s challenges. "With extensive experience providing therapy to individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues, I am committed to responding with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based care. In addition to my work as a therapist, my background in healthcare, hospice, and counseling settings has given me a well-rounded perspective on mental and emotional well-being, allowing me to support clients through a wide range of life experiences." I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from Jackson State University. My approach to therapy is nonjudgmental, compassionate, and practical, creating a space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered. I encourage clients to come to our scheduled sessions ready, willing, and motivated to address the areas that matter most to them. Together, we’ll work to identify and overcome obstacles, build on your strengths, and develop effective coping strategies.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your first session is all about creating a comfortable, welcoming space where you feel heard and supported. This time is devoted to getting to know you—your story, concerns, and what brought you to therapy. I encourage you to share in your own words at your own pace. We’ll also discuss your goals, expectations, and any questions you may have about the process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. With over 18 years of experience, I have developed a deep understanding of how to help individuals navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, and relationship concerns with empathy and evidence-based care. My approach is tailored to each person’s unique needs. Clients appreciate my ability to recognize their strengths, help them build resilience, and guide them toward meaningful change. Whether you’re facing life transitions, grief, or emotional struggles, I am here to provide the support and strategies needed to help you move forward with confidence.

Whether you're navigating life transitions, grief, or personal challenges, I am here to guide you with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based strategies.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and other challenges. In our sessions, we work together to identify negative beliefs, reframe them into healthier perspectives, and develop practical coping strategies. Some activities but not limited to Interactive Role Play, Journaling, Education, and Guided Self Reflection

Psychodynamic

I incorporate the Psychodynamic approach by helping clients explore how past experiences, unconscious patterns, and early relationships influence their present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through open and reflective conversations, we work to uncover underlying issues that may contribute to anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, or relational difficulties.
