My career in the social services/mental health field started in 1997. I have had the privilege of working with clients in the geriatric population, children and adolescents, adults, and families. I enjoy assisting others as they work to meet their goals. I am passionate about working with individuals and families. I received a doctorate degree in School Psychology, a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions and then dive into your specific challenges. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My primary specialty areas include Depression, Anxiety, Women's Issues, Anger Management, Grief/Bereavement, Stress Management, and Trauma.
I especially enjoy working with clients who are genuinely invested in the therapeutic process. These individuals tend to be motivated to make meaningful changes but may feel emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next steps.
In my counseling work, I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I’ve applied CBT with both children and adults, particularly those experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. I often incorporate techniques like identifying cognitive distortions, developing thought records, and setting achievable behavioral goals.
