I’m Melissa Lapides, and my work centers around attachment. If you’re dating or in a relationship, we’re going to look at how your early experiences shaped the way you connect, protect, pursue, withdraw, or repeat the same patterns over and over. Together, we make sense of why you’re experiencing the challenges you’re having — not from a place of blame, but from understanding. I work with both individuals and couples to help them build more harmonious relationships rooted in emotional safety, secure connection, and real love and intimacy. When you understand your attachment style and nervous system, your relationship patterns stop feeling confusing and start feeling workable. I’m warm, direct, and grounded — think compassionate but honest. I’ll hold space for your pain, and I’ll also gently call you forward when you’re ready. I believe most struggles make sense in the context of your story and your nervous system, not because something is “wrong” with you. My goal is to help you feel more regulated, more connected, and more empowered in your relationships and your life. Healing doesn’t have to be dramatic — it can be steady, real, and deeply transformative.

I’m Dr. Kim, a licensed clinical psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, spending most of my career in public service. After many years of serving families and leading mental health programs, I’m excited to bring that experience into my private practice and create a space where clients can feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My own journey has taught me something important about taking meaningful steps forward. I grew up on a small dairy farm in Eastern Canada, where I spent my summers throwing hay and running barefoot through the fields. After discovering psychology during my undergraduate studies, I took a leap of faith and moved across the country to British Columbia for my Master's degree—my first time ever on a plane! A few years later, I made another big leap and immigrated to California to begin my career in public service. Years later, I returned to school for my doctorate in clinical psychology, completing that journey in 2020 and becoming a licensed psychologist in 2025. I share this because I understand that meaningful change often requires courage, even when we aren't entirely sure where the path will lead. I believe therapy is a place to explore that path together. I am warm, caring, honest, and nonjudgmental, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know people and hearing their stories. My goal is to help you understand yourself and your relationships more clearly, get unstuck, and move toward a life that feels more fulfilling and meaningful.

Welcome! I'm Amy, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life's challenges with compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure to have everything figured out. My practice focuses on working with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, burnout, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, autoimmune diseases and major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with all individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Therapy isn't about being "fixed", it's about learning new ways to respond to life's difficulties while building a stronger relationship with yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and direct, with some humor! I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process, so we'll move at a pace that feels safe while also challenging unhelpful patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I encourage clients to practice skills outside of session because lasting growth happens both in and between our meetings. As a bilingual therapist, I strive to provide culturally responsive care and recognize the unique experiences each person brings into the therapy room. My training includes EMDR, allowing me to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences when appropriate. I value honesty, humor, and genuine connection. I know that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, and I don't take for granted the trust it takes to share your story. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or simply ready for something to change, my goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered as you move toward the life you want to create.

My name is Jeffrey Yeom, and I'm a 1.5-generation Korean-American therapist. I believe one of our deepest human needs is to understand and to be understood. That's why I do this work: to help you realize you don't have to navigate life alone. My practice centers on decolonizing mental health, which means freeing you from values imposed by dominant culture so you can reconnect with what truly matters to you. I take time to learn your background, identity, and cultural world, then weave that understanding into rituals, traditions, and self-care practices that honor who you are. Together, we'll explore the emotions that point toward your truest values and gently rewrite patterns that no longer serve you. I work from an emotion-focused, attachment-based, and psychodynamic approach. In my sessions, I invite you to show up exactly as you are. We'll explore the relationships and experiences that have shaped you with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment. If you're looking for a space where your whole story can belong, I hope you reach out. Many of my clients carry stories shaped by migration, acculturation, or family expectations. You're not alone in navigating these.

Therapy is a collaborative relationship between therapist and client and it is my hope that ours is one that will help to empower you to enact the change you need to live the life you want. You may often have times in your life when you think everything is fine and then suddenly you feel angry, anxious or upset. Maybe you frequently struggle with feeling on edge, avoid talking about your feelings or negative experiences, feel stuck, find it hard to focus or concentrate, you get distracted easily or have difficulty relaxing. Any negative life experience, including from childhood, has the possibility of manifesting in any of the ways described. I endeavor to help you manage and process the feelings that may hold you back from being able to function and live your life the way you want. Together, we can figure out your obstacles and start your journey of healing. I work with teens, adults of all ages and parents with young children 3-7 and will incorporate family sessions as needed. I can usually see children 8-12 and couples, but prefer to see these clients in-person which is not possible currently, but hopefully in the near future. I often utilize mindfulness, somatic awareness, EMDR, TF-CBT, CBT or PCIT. Thinking about going to therapy can feel intimidating, but in doing so, you are taking a step on your journey to healing. I will offer you a safe, non-judgmental space to heal and meet you wherever you are in that journey.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns they keep finding themselves in. People often come to me during times of transition, when relationships feel strained, or when they realize that the ways they’ve learned to cope, communicate, or protect themselves aren’t working quite as well anymore. I’m especially interested in the way our relationships and experiences shape how we see ourselves and what we come to expect from the people around us. Sometimes the thing bringing you to therapy is very clear. Other times, it’s harder to name—you may just know that you’re overwhelmed, disconnected, repeating a familiar pattern, or not feeling quite like yourself. My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative. I want therapy to be a place where you can be thoughtful and curious about yourself without feeling like you have to have everything figured out first. We’ll make sense of what’s happening now, how you got here, and what might need to shift for life and relationships to feel different. If you’d like to connect briefly before beginning therapy, please schedule your first appointment here through Grow. Once scheduled, you’ll be able to message me directly, and I’m happy to answer questions about fit before we meet.

A little about me: I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who, come to find out, originally got into this field largely to figure myself out. If you’ve never heard that from a therapist before, it’s actually a pretty common thread among us, we often subconsciously step into healing others as a way to find healing within ourselves. About 22 years ago, I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD, and roughly 15 years ago, I received an OCD diagnosis. Having these two conditions overlap made things incredibly challenging throughout much of my life and if I’m being completely honest, navigating that balance can still have its moments today. But there’s something powerful about a wounded healer: we tend to want more for ourselves and for the people we serve than just standard, status-quo talk therapy. We dig deeper because we need real answers on a personal level, and once we find what works, we want to share it with the world.

As a black female school-based therapist, my dream client is one who approaches therapy with openness, honesty, and a willingness to engage in the process of self-discovery and growth. My dream client understands the importance of mental health and values the support that therapy can provide in navigating the challenges of adolescence. Ideally, my dream client is someone who is eager to explore their identity, including aspects of race, culture, and gender, in a safe and affirming space. They are open to discussing sensitive topics and are willing to challenge societal norms and expectations that may be impacting their well-being. My dream client is proactive in their approach to therapy, actively participating in sessions, completing assigned tasks or homework, and practicing coping skills outside of our sessions. They understand that therapy is a collaborative effort and are committed to working together to achieve their goals. Additionally, my dream client is respectful, compassionate, and empathetic towards others, fostering a sense of community and support within the therapeutic environment. They are open to learning from different perspectives and are willing to engage in discussions around social justice, equity, and inclusion. Overall, my dream client is someone who is committed to their personal growth and development, embraces their uniqueness, and values the power of therapy in fostering resilience and well-being.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist offering individual and couples therapy to adults throughout California. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, identity, and major life transitions. I have particular experience supporting LGBTQ+ clients, members of the adoption constellation, and professionals working in entertainment and other creative fields. My approach is warm, relational, and depth-oriented. I believe meaningful therapy involves more than managing symptoms—it creates space to understand the deeper patterns, relationships, and experiences shaping your life. Depending on your needs, I draw from psychodynamic and Jungian therapy, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, family systems, narrative therapy, dream work, and practical cognitive-behavioral tools. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working as a producer in film and television. That experience gave me a firsthand understanding of creative ambition, unpredictable careers, collaboration, rejection, and the pressure to keep performing even when something internally feels stuck. I bring curiosity, humor, compassion, and genuine engagement into the therapy room. My goal is to offer a space where you can speak honestly, feel deeply understood, and develop a stronger relationship with yourself and the people who matter to you.

Hi there. Thanks for stopping by. I’m Chynna. In my practice I specialize in supporting parents and partners of all genders navigate towards a version of parenthood that feels good, from before day one and beyond. My work with clients is informed by my undergraduate degree in Gender Studies with a concentration in Women’s Reproductive Health, as well as a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology. Your sessions would benefit from my extensive post-graduate trainings in: Internal Family Systems, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Perinatal Mood Disorders (PSI), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing. Drawing upon these modalities I utilize an eclectic blend of primarily somatic, systemic, attachment-curious, and psychodynamic informed approaches to ground and grow what is already working into what works well so the clients whom I serve can thrive. To our work together I bring lived experience as a parent who sought assisted reproductive technologies to become pregnant. My winding path to becoming a parent and a clinician arose out of my own challenges during my pregnancies and postpartum periods. These experiences, coupled with a lack of culturally aware support that honored my unique identities as a Black woman from a deeply spiritual Caribbean culture, left me feeling lost and alone at times. While my path’s start may differ from yours, I have likely been close to where you are and so I offer you hope and an array of strategies to honor all parts of you that show up in our work together.

While I am new to Grow Therapy, I have been practicing in various schools settings as a counselor for over a decade: supporting students and parents navigate, life, learning and loss of all types. Whether you or your child experience neurodivergence (such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, emotionality, sensory sensitivities, demand avoidance, etc.) or are struggling with social , work, relationship or routine daily demands, I am here to support you. I also support women going through relationship struggles, whether it's from co-parenting, infidelity, perimenopause, caregiving burnout, etc. Over the years, I found myself working more and more with moms who are carrying it all, doing all that they can, and finding themselves barely hanging on. You may be feeling, overwhelm, confusion, guilt, shame, exhaustion and even anger. If so, I am here to help you navigate through these difficult feelings. I tailor each session to meet the client's individual needs, personality, and strengths. Together, we'll build on your resilience, intuition, and inner resources while creating opportunities for growth, healing, and self-empowerment. My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative environment to make changes at your pace.

I am a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral healthcare, with particular expertise in substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. In addition to clinical practice, I currently lead research and innovation efforts for a national behavioral healthcare organization and have previously served as an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. I am also a published author and regularly speak at regional and national conferences on mental health and addiction. These experiences inform my perspective, but therapy begins with understanding you. My approach is thoughtful, curious, and nonjudgmental, grounded in the belief that therapy works best when clients feel understood and hopeful about change. From there, we’ll identify patterns, create new experiences, and explore practical steps toward a more connected, meaningful, and engaged life.

Hi, I’m Melba. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I come from the understanding that individual wellbeing is a vital contribution to the collective whole. The work you do on a deeply personal scale is never selfish. But "the work" doesn't start with grand transformations; it starts in the quiet, heavy moments of your day-to-day life. Most people’s starting points involve their internal experiences, like feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, unmotivated, or misunderstood. You may be experiencing difficulty communicating, having trouble sleeping, struggling with executive functioning or some other condition. While these feelings are deeply personal, they don't happen in a vacuum. My approach is systems-informed, meaning I look at the influence of relationships, environments, and patterns around you. By looking at specific dynamics, we can concentrate on the opportunities for change that are most readily available to you. On my background - my roots are from Kerala, India, and I was raised in San Jose, California. I come from an orthodox Christian faith tradition, but for me, faith isn't about having all the answers, so I’d describe myself as a spiritual agnostic. I’m especially attuned to the specific weight of collectivist cultures - the obligation and silence that can run through diaspora families, and the particular guilt of being the one who wants something different. I also have a background in economics and enterprise tech (my career before therapy), which gives me a practical lens alongside the clinical one. I’m especially drawn to clients who are the first in their family to go to therapy, to set a boundary or to try something different. And I’m a big fan of clients who appreciate tv/ movie references, a healthy dose of absurdity and a shared laugh.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
