My name is LaTeasha Skinner. I am a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. I'm a Licensed Professional Therapist. Personally, and professionally The Family Unit is very important to me. I majored in Family Counseling because the connection between mental health and the health of the family are intertwined and that connection lights a fire inside of me. I have a strong passion and desire to help others shine through the rough paths of life. I believe that helping people work through different situations will strengthen families, therefore, ensuring that their other relationships are healthy as well. I endeavor to provide the highest quality of care to my clients, that is why I dedicate time to learn the latest techniques, stay abreast of the latest research breakthroughs, as well as attending training sessions to enhance my skillset. I tailor my client's treatment plan to meet their individual needs by looking at all aspects of their life: mind, body and spirit.
In our first session together we will get to know each other by creating a foundation to building a trusting relationship. In this session we will discuss challenges and goals that the client may be facing. This will help us create a tailored treatment plan to work together throughout future sessions.
Having worked in the field for several years I have great active listening skills, and I am very empathic. I make my clients feel comfortable sharing their story and join in by helping their healing journey. I have expertise working with clients that have dealt with, depression, anxiety, and trauma to name a few.
My goal is to help my clients establish and restore healthy relationships and help them live their lives to the fullest. I provide services to adults ages 18 and above. I work with those dealing with ptsd, trauma, behavioral problems, abandonment, neglect, infertility, pre/postpartum depression, grief and loss, infidelity and abuse. My clients just need help with the tools to help navigate and make their goals reality.
