Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is helpful, especially with clients who struggle with generalized anxiety and forms of depression. Focusing on mindset work and learning to replace negative and unproductive thoughts and self-talk with more life-affirming and productive thoughts is important. Working on improving one's coping skills and strategies is important, all the while knowing that the change is a process and requires practice and awareness.
Trauma-Informed Care
I work with a lot of clients who struggle with various levels of trauma that can cause a lack of functioning mentally, physically, socially and emotionally, and/or problems with their spiritual well-being. I educate clients on how trauma efects the brain and their relationships and can trigger emotional responses and emotional safety concerns. I help them build self-awareness.
Eclectic
I have a lot of training and experience and find that an eclectic approach to helping my clients is helpful. Each client has their own uniqueness and applying various healing modalities, based on individual needs, is effective. I approach healing and transformation holistically; focusing on body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Mind-body approach
I believe in the importance of mindfulness as well as learning to be more embodied. Embodiment is learning to be more grounded and in touch with our bodies in order to be more fully present in life. I find that the mind-body approach is vital to over-all mental, emotional, and physical health and well-being. As a long-time meditator myself, I know the importance of learning to connect more with our inner-guidance system and create a strong inner-foundation to handle the storms of life.
Humanistic
I help my clients achieve their potential by becoming more self-aware and accepting of themselves. It's a self-development approach where clients often explore their identity, values, and strengths. I hold the space for empathy, congruence and positive regard.
