Welcome! I am Silvia Gudino, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My mission is to provide a positive experience where you feel empowered! Therapy should feel like a meaningful conversation allowing you to breathe a little better each time. I strive to provide a space where you feel heard, supported, guided, and safe. With my humanistic approach, it is important that you feel that our time is valuable and meaningful.
During our first session, I welcome you to share as little or as much as you want about your current situation and your past. After all, you just met me and perhaps you are feeling nervous, scared, overwhelmed or maybe unease due to a negative experience in the past. I want you to know that I am patient, empathetic, and ready to listen when ever you are ready to be heard. After that, each session is designed to feel intentional and purposeful!
I love being a clinician and having all the knowledge that I have. My compassion doesn't go unnoticed! Making a connection with my client's is what I strive for. I am genuine and humble to their needs and situations. I am resourceful and can provide guidance as we navigate through the challenges.
As we know, life can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques can be empowering by challenging those negative thoughts, feelings and actions breaking away from that negative cycle and taking control of your life. This tool may be helpful when treating individuals with trauma, depression, anxiety, and fears such as public speaking.
The mind and body are very unique. With experiential therapy, individuals may be able to experience unknown feelings through role-play, music or even art. This tool may be helpful when treating individuals with trauma, grief, self-esteem, and confidence.
Instead of focusing on the problem, let's focus on the solution... the how vs. the why! This tool promotes resiliency, hope, and motivation to handle difficult challenges and meet specific goals!
It is within our nature to focus on our weaknesses, faults, and failures that we actually lose focus on what else is true about ourselves. But the truth is, that there are more strengths and more positives in our lives. By taking a straight-based approach, we have the opportunity to rediscover our strengths and abilities; overall, increasing your confidence, motivation, and well-being.
Have you ever been told, "What's wrong with you?" And you were not sure what to say, because frankly you are not even sure. With psychoeducation, you will gain knowledge and understanding about your mental illness allowing you to have grace, patience, and self-compassion towards yourself.
