Hello and welcome, I'm Cecilia! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been involved in the mental health field since 2016. I am based in Southern California, and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. My therapeutic approach is rooted in creating an environment of safety, collaboration, and authenticity. I have worked with clients addressing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal/relationship conflicts, emotion regulation, and trauma. I have worked with adolescents, young adults and adults on their own professional and personal journeys. In our first session together, I'll actively listen to your concerns and what gave you the strength to attend therapy. We'll discuss your support system and coping skills, and what your aspire to achieve through treatment. I'll be working with you to help you identify your intrinsic strengths all developed through our own treatment plan, just so we can keep a track of your goals.
I believe that I am a good listener. I hold each person in unconditional regard and I am respectful of each person's process. I provide empathy for each individual and I simply meet you where you are at without judgment. I always emphasize that I am a LEARNER as well to each client I meet, as I have much to learn from every one. I believe these are my strengths as a therapist.
I have a passion for working with young adults who are interested in developing acceptance and compassion towards themselves. Life is rough and emotions can get quite intense. With my experience, I hope to walk with you on your journey to regulate your emotions; identify triggers; grow your support system; and create a plan of safety.
With DBT, I have helped clients to understand, manage, and regulate emotions. Emotions can be quite intense at times, and through DBT, I've worked with client to practice mindfulness and acceptance. Along with emotion regulation, I've assisted clients to better manage stressors and their social relationships, as well.
I am an EMDR basic-trained clinician. Through EMDR, I have helped clients to heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. While practicing EMDR with my clients, I allow for them to focus on changing the emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that result from their trauma/distressing experienced rather than jut talking in detail about it. I have helped my clients to identify their triggers, reprocess, and repair their distressful memories.
With Solution Focused Brief Therapy, I have helped clients to construct solutions rather than to focus on the problem. I have assisted client to realize their intrinsic strengths in order to tackle their stressors.
