I am a licensed clinical social worker, independently licensed in Arizona with over 15 years of experience providing therapy to adolescents, adults, veterans, couples, and families. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including various types of trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, drug and alcohol struggles, relationship issues, life adjustment difficulties, low self-esteem and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced thoughts of suicide and hopelessness. I believe that feeling safe, supported, and non-judged are essential in building a successful working relationship, and treating everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion. You are not a label. We will work together to develop a treatment plan that meets your specific goals and needs. My therapeutic style combines culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approaches using cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, attachment-focused, psychodynamic, mindfulness, and narrative therapy.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial session, we will embark on a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, aiming to understand the full spectrum of your medical and mental health history, relationship dynamics, current challenges, and specific needs and goals. This thorough evaluation is crucial in forming a holistic view of your well-being, which will guide us in creating a tailored treatment plan.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe my compassion and empathy to build a safe and inclusive space to support each individual I work with helps people feel seen, heard, and valued. This coupled with my 20 years of experience in behavioral health care, expertise in trauma and relationship work, and ability to reduce the anxiety surrounding the therapy experience allows each person to grow and process at their own pace of recovery, while learning strategies and actionable steps to measure their progress makes me an effective provider.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

One of my primary objectives is to assist clients in processing their trauma. This involves exploring past experiences, understanding their impact, and developing strategies to manage and reduce trauma-related symptoms. I utilize evidence-based techniques to facilitate healing and empowerment. I aim to help clients improve their level of functioning in various aspects of life, including personal, social, and professional domains. By addressing anxiety and depression, clients can achieve greater stability and productivity, enhancing their overall quality of life. Establishing and maintaining healthy relationships is crucial for mental and emotional well-being. I work with clients to develop effective communication skills, set boundaries, and foster trust and intimacy in their relationships. This process is vital for creating supportive and nurturing connections. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to helping clients achieve their goals. Whether working with teenagers, young adults, women facing trauma or life transitions, or individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, I strive to provide a safe, inclusive, and effective therapeutic environment. Together, we can navigate the challenges, heal from the past, and build a brighter future.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I use Attachment therapy to focus on helping individuals form secure and healthy emotional bonds in their current relationships by addressing disruptions from early attachment relationships. Through various techniques, I aim to foster trust, safety, and connection, which are essential for emotional well-being and effective interpersonal relationships.

EMDR

Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy technique that guides clients to recall distressing experiences while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, typically through guided eye movements. This process helps reduce the emotional impact of traumatic memories by allowing the brain to reprocess the experiences in a less distressing way.
