What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session we will work together to determine if my experience and intersectional identities are aligned with you and your goals. We will complete the assessment process and work collaboratively together to develop a treatment plan so you can begin to work towards what healing looks like for you as an individual.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a first generation immigrant who is bilingual in Somali and English. I identify with both my Somali heritage and American identity. My greatest strength is my ability to provide a calm and validating space to my clients while using humor. This allows me to be my most authentic self when working with you. Faith is important to me and fuels my compassion towards all walks of life. My aim is to allow you to the space to incorporate faith in our work together if this is important for you as well.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

In my practice I strive to meet clients where they are. Using an eclectic approach allows for flexibility in which therapeutic modality works best based on what you, the client is experiencing. I am trained in dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. My goal is to identify which therapy fits best in collaboration with you.
