New to Grow

Hi, I’m Alexis, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who specializes in grief, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, understand your patterns, and develop practical skills to manage emotions and stress. Together, we work at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on building resilience, increasing self-awareness, and helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to yourself.

First session

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know one another and begin building the foundation for our work together. I’ll invite you to share what has brought you to therapy, what feels most important for you right now, and what you hope to gain from the process. We’ll talk about your current stressors, your support system, and any past experiences with therapy so I can understand what has or hasn’t been helpful before. You’ll also have space to ask questions, express any concerns, and let me know what helps you feel comfortable in a therapeutic space. My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, grounded, and supported—with a clear sense of direction and a plan that feels manageable and tailored to your needs.

Strengths

My greatest strengths lie in creating a steady, supportive environment where clients can explore grief, trauma, mood-related symptoms, and everyday stress at a comfortable pace. I draw from attachment-based approaches to help clients understand how past relationships shape current emotional patterns, and I use CBT to support practical skill-building and shift unhelpful thought processes. I also incorporate solution-focused strategies to identify strengths, clarify goals, and create realistic steps toward meaningful change. With experience supporting individuals through complex emotional histories, I blend deeper insight-oriented work with grounded, present-day problem-solving. Clients often describe my approach as calm, collaborative, and empowering, with an emphasis on helping them feel understood, capable, and more connected to themselves.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients are individuals who feel weighed down by their emotions, their past, or the transitions they’re navigating, and who are seeking a space to unpack it with care. They may be longing for clarity, stability, or simply a place where they don’t have to carry everything alone. I work well with people who want to understand the impact of their past, make sense of their emotional patterns, and build practical tools that help them feel more grounded, connected, and steady. Together, we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable, focusing on insight, coping strategies, and meaningful growth.

Treatment methods

Eclectic

My approach is flexible, collaborative, and grounded in what feels most helpful for you. I work from a trauma-informed lens, which means we move at a pace that feels safe and steady, with a focus on understanding your emotions and building regulation skills. I also draw from attachment-based work to explore how past relationships and experiences influence the patterns you’re living with today. To support everyday coping, I use CBT to help you notice and shift unhelpful thoughts and build practical tools you can use outside of session. Person-centered care guides how I show up—warm, curious, and focused on your lived experience. And when you’re feeling stuck, I bring in solution-focused strategies to highlight strengths, clarify what you want, and create small, doable steps toward feeling more grounded and empowered. All of these pieces come together to create a therapy experience that’s supportive, reflective, and tailored to you.
