Will Z. Zogg
Combining lived and learned experience, my focus as a counselor is trauma-informed, relational, humorous and curious. Centering a playful and consistent approach, I describe myself to new clients as the goth and more boundaried Samwise to your Frodo. I am a fully certified Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment provider (Dr. Janina Fischer), a level one in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a child mental health specialist, and a certified Washington state clinical supervisor.
First session
I offer a free 15–20-minute consultation to let us get to know each other, go over what challenges you'd like to address in your appointments, and see if your goals align with what I can provide. This is a great time for you to ask questions, tell me what you've liked or have not benefited from in previous counseling sessions, and see if we are a fit. Our first session will include going over my policies and agreements as well as your client rights and responsibilities. We will complete an intake assessment together. Between the first and second appointment, I will diagnose your condition and explain what the symptoms are, or if we are ruling out other diagnoses. It is most common that people are going through several different conditions (environmental, medical, physical, etc.) though please note insurance only needs one diagnosis on file. Once we have your assessment completed we will co-create a treatment plan and begin your care journey!
Strengths
My style is an eclectic blend of warm and challenging. I am trained in a blend of experiential, somatic, and relational approaches that are tailored to each individual client.
Ideal clients
Clients I work best with are generally people who may have difficulties seeing the best about themselves and perhaps haven't received foundational support to be aware of their own worth and value. I work with people from the ground up, helping to identify strengths and working together to deepen understanding of overarching challenges, looking at the whole picture to include environmental, medical and social factors.
Treatment methods
Relational
The client/counselor relationship is my most utilized framework in counseling: utilizing our rapport to build goals and connection toward learning communication skills, relational healing and relearning trust.
