Hannah Bennett
Hi! I'm Hannah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I enjoy helping my clients navigate life's challenges and create meaningful, lasting change. I have worked with many different clients facing many different challenges - from children struggling with school refusal to adults who have substance use disorders.
My goal is to offer a grounded, compassionate space where you can: gain deeper self-understanding and insight, process painful or overwhelming past experiences safely, develop practical, realistic coping tools, and rebuild confidence and harness your personal strengths.
I have specialized training in substance use disorder treatment and child/adolescent therapy, and will always tailor my approach to meet clients' unique needs.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity to explore what brings you to therapy, understand your experiences and goals, and begin building a collaborative relationship. My approach is individualized, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experiences. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or relationship challenges, we’ll begin identifying what support looks like for you.
Strengths
My goal is to offer a grounded, compassionate space where you can: gain deeper self-understanding and insight, process painful or overwhelming past experiences safely, develop practical, realistic coping tools, and rebuild confidence and harness your personal strengths.
Ideal clients
I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with navigating stressful life circumstances. This may look like changes to relationships, family stress, substance use, trauma, or tough life decisions. I work well with clients who are seeking greater insight and understanding of themselves. During sessions, we will work to safely process difficulties, identify personal values and strengths, and determine ways to move forward in ways that are fulfilling!
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Rather than trying to eliminate uncomfortable feelings, we work on building flexibility, increasing self-awareness, and learning how to respond to challenges with greater compassion and intention
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore patterns of thinking that may contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, or feeling stuck, while developing practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed techniques to help clients better understand their inner experiences, emotions, and patterns of behavior. I believe that even the parts of ourselves we struggle with often developed as ways to protect us or help us navigate difficult experiences.
