This commitment to improving your own mental health deserves recognition, so take a second to cheer now! I have a passion for working with adults 18+ who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, women's health, grief, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions and many other struggles. Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is primarily an information-gathering session. It is an informal, non-judgmental conversation designed to help you feel safe. It’s not about immediate, intense breakthrough work. Think of it as laying the foundation for our partnership. I’ll ask you to share, at your own pace, what brought you to counseling. This includes your current challenges (like anxiety symptoms or trauma triggers) and what you hope to achieve. If you need to pause or change the subject, that is absolutely fine. We will never rush into painful topics. You only share what you are ready to share. We'll touch on your background, including your health, family, and social history, to better understand the context of your life. We will work together to set some initial goals. These are your targets for feeling better, whether that’s stopping those unhelpful thoughts, processing a loss, implementing boundaries, or just feeling safer in the world. I will spend time explaining my approach to therapy—how we’ll work together to address your presenting concerns and answer any questions you have about the process. We will briefly review important professional items, such as confidentiality, session length, and fees, to ensure everything is transparent. By the end of the session, the goal is for you to walk away feeling heard, respected, and hopeful. We will either schedule your next session or discuss what steps you’d like to take next on your journey to better days.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I provide a deeply compassionate and accepting space where individuals can explore vulnerable feelings without fear of criticism. I treat the person, not just the diagnosis, integrating mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. I focus on helping individuals reclaim their sense of control and make choices by design, not default, which is crucial for trauma survivors. My work prioritizes creating a safe and regulated state before deep trauma processing begins, making the journey less overwhelming. I teach practical tools to pull individuals out of anxious rumination and traumatic flashbacks, anchoring them in the "here and now." I go beyond talk therapy to incorporate modalities like EMDR, to offer a richer path to healing. I provide individuals with concrete, daily tools to manage their nervous system, interrupt anxiety cycles, and cope with triggers. I help individuals shift from self-criticism to a place of kindness and acceptance regarding their symptoms and past. I help individuals move from feeling trapped by fear or past events to feeling forward momentum and hope for the future. Individuals report deeper self-trust, clarity of values, and improved boundaries, leading to healthier relationships with others.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Sometimes things like putting other's needs before your own, excessive worry, loss, and life's transitions transition get in the way of the life that you deserve. I focus on helping clients gain the tools to uproot things that no longer serve them and plant the things that will help them to truly flourish. My goal is for individuals to receive tools so that they can be healed and whole so that they can achieve their goals. It has been so rewarding to witness transformation in the lives of those that I have supported and counseled. With my wholistic approach to treatment I am confident that your life can be transformed too! If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in treatment over the past 10 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

EMDR

I’ve been using EMDR in my practice over the past 2 years. It’s helped many client improve their overall mental health and wellbeing. We’ll use EMDR to help you recall and process distressing memories to reduce the intensity of distressing memories that impact your daily life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I’ve been using Solution Focused Brief Treatment in my practice over the past 10 years. It’s helped many clients take control of their life by focusing on their strengths and finding practical solutions to their problems. We’ll use SFBT to define what change looks like for you and help you build the courage to take the necessary steps forward towards the change that you want to see and experience in your life.
