New to Grow
Hi, I’m Bonnie Phillips, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. I provide a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and build healthier coping skills. My approach is client-centered and integrates CBT, DBT, relational, and compassion-focused techniques to support emotional growth, resilience, and meaningful change.
During the first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and the goals you hope to work toward. I will ask questions about your background, relationships, emotional health, and any challenges you may be experiencing so I can better understand how to support you. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and understood. We will also talk about what therapy may look like moving forward and begin identifying helpful tools and strategies tailored to your needs.

I work best with adults who are motivated for self-growth and open to exploring patterns, emotions, and relationships in a deeper way. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, emotional overwhelm, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions. My ideal clients are individuals who may feel stuck or disconnected but are ready to better understand themselves, build healthier coping skills, improve relationships, and create more balance in their lives. I provide a supportive, collaborative space that combines insight with practical tools for lasting change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a practical, skills-based approach to help clients better manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive reactions, improve relationships, and build a greater sense of stability and self-awareness. My experience with DBT includes working with adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma-related symptoms, relationship difficulties, and high levels of stress or overwhelm.
Relational
I use a relational approach by emphasizing the importance of a safe, supportive, and authentic therapeutic relationship as part of the healing process. My experience includes working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. In practice, I help clients explore how past and current relationship patterns impact emotions, communication, boundaries, and self-worth. I combine relational therapy with CBT, DBT, and Compassion Focused Individual Therapy to support insight, emotional growth, and healthier relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship challenges. I work with adults to build healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and develop practical strategies for daily life
Compassion Focused
I use Compassion Focused Therapy to support clients in developing self-compassion, decreasing self-judgment, and creating a more supportive relationship with themselves. I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, shame, perfectionism, depression, and low self-esteem. In therapy, I help clients recognize critical inner thoughts and build healthier emotional coping and regulation skills.
