Hi, I'm a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I can prescribe medications and do therapy, if needed. I worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice before going back to school to specialize in psychiatry. It was evident to me that our mental health greatly impacts our physical health. I was drawn to psychiatry to tackle problems at the root cause and not just prescribe medications for the physical problems being caused by the stress of life on our mental health.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. I've always told my patients that it is their opportunity to interview the provider and determine if we can work together. I need to know about you in order to determine the best treatment options that are specific to you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I listen. I understand that everyone is different and has their own unique needs. I help people to see what their options are. I have experience with traditional medications, alternative solutions and various types of therapies. I love to learn and have learned a lot in my career so that I can offer many options for care.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy the challenge of working with patients who have not had success finding the right combination of treatment options to feel better. Everyone is unique and there is not a "one size fits all" treatment plan.

Strength-Based

Strengths are identified and used to achieve success. If we only focus on our perceived weaknesses this holds us back. We all have strengths, we just need to identify them and learn to use them to navigate around our weaker areas.

Psychoeducation

Knowledge is power. When you understand why something is the way it is, you have control over how you will react and handle it.

Trauma Informed Care

I have an extensive history working with trauma patients. I use many different trauma care models to help patients move forward.
