I am a dual board certified nurse practitioner, both in adult acute care and in psychiatric mental health. I have been working in medicine for nearly 20 years and have been a practicing nurse practitioner for seven years. I value the time getting to know my clients and helping them to feel the best version of themselves. Mental health is important to everyday health.
On your first visit with me, expect that I will spend some time getting to know about your life. Not just surface things but I need to know deeper things also, this will help me to formulate a better diagnosis and plan for you. We will discuss your goals and realistic treatment. We will see each other monthly, sometimes more frequent and continue to work through things in each session.
My greatest strength as a provider is being empathetic and relatable.
I enjoy working with a variety of age ranges. I have a passion for helping students, parents, professionals, military, and healthcare workers. I think it is important to know that having a mental health concern is perfectly normal and enjoy working with those who are eager to feel better. Having realistic goals are important and understanding that sometimes therapy is also needed in addition to medication is important. There are many medications used in mental health and there can be a lot of trialing finding the medication and dose that works best for you.
Treatment methods for different psychiatric diagnoses vary including psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and pharmacology.
