(she/her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than three decades of experience collaborating with individuals, couples, families and groups in a variety of settings. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring what's on your mind. I use various therapeutic approaches to help develop coping skills and gain new perspectives. I am here to listen, understand, and work with you to achieve your goals for therapy.
The initial session will consist of questions related to your presenting concern(s). It will allow us to become interactive in my assessing your needs and personality . We will formulate a working plan with treating goals. This team approach will allow for ongoing review of client satisfaction. I will listen to your perspective as it is an opportunity for you to ask questions and tell me anything on your mind. We will review demographics, policies, scheduling, attendance and modes of communication.
Having worked professionally for over three decades, my greatest strength is a commitment to help. The ability to understand and share. Acceptance and support without judgement. Active listening. Building an alliance/rapport of connection. Boundaries. Genuineness and honesty. Receipt of an unbiased, nonjudgmental, and fresh perspective in a safe environment in which your personal information is confidential.
Therapy is a collaborative process that requires active participation. An ideal client is willing to do the work, both inside and outside of sessions. You may not always be happy about it, but being committed to showing up, being honest, and putting in the effort will lead to your desired outcome. Mutually engaged exchange-based discussions will allow for empathic empowerment in attaining transformative change.
