Wendy Filias
Welcome! I'm Wendy, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping adults improve their mental health through personalized, compassionate care. I offer convenient telehealth appointments and work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health concerns. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful progress.
First session
During your first appointment, we'll complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to better understand your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current medications, and treatment goals. We'll discuss any diagnoses, review treatment options—including medication if appropriate—and develop a personalized plan together. I encourage you to ask questions throughout the visit so you feel informed, supported, and actively involved in your care.
Strengths
I bring a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach to every session. I take the time to truly listen, helping clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe in building strong therapeutic relationships based on trust and open communication. My goal is to provide evidence-based, individualized care while empowering clients with the tools and knowledge they need to make meaningful, lasting changes in their mental health and overall well-being.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are adults who want to feel better, gain clarity, and create lasting positive change. Some may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, or the stress of balancing work, relationships, and everyday life. Others may simply want a provider who listens, explains treatment options clearly, and partners with them in making informed decisions. I believe every client deserves individualized, compassionate care, and I strive to create a supportive space where healing and growth can happen at your own pace.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps clients identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier behaviors, and build effective coping skills. I tailor CBT techniques to each client's individual goals and may combine them with medication management and other therapeutic approaches to provide personalized, comprehensive care.
Supportive
I incorporate supportive therapy to help clients process life's challenges in a safe and encouraging environment. Through active listening, empathy, validation, and practical guidance, I help clients build coping skills, increase resilience, and work toward their mental health goals.
