Real quick...take a second...close your eyes, breath deep, let it out slowly, open your eyes...okay. Welcome - my name is Dr. Taijah Davis, EdD a licensed therapist specializing in treating individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I work with adults 19-45 and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. Additionally, I specialize in premaratial and marriage counseling which addresses communication challenges, emotional disconnection, unresolved conflicts, and patterns hinder relationship growth, helping partners build understanding and strengthen their bond.
In your first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where we’ll take time to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your goals and challenges, and I’ll introduce you to the basics of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll start exploring the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be contributing to your struggles, and I’ll support you in developing strategies to create positive change. It’s all about taking the first step toward feeling better and gaining more control over your life!
I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as I find this modality to be extremely effective in addressing the therapeutic needs of clients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and numerous other mental health disorders. I also find Solution Focused therapy to be extremely beneficial in developing and obtaining specific client goals. Lastly, I utilize The Gottman Method when working with couples in premarital and marriage counseling to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
I would argue that my biggest strength is being able to connect and build authentic, long-lasting, relationships with my clients. Walking into therapy can be scary, so I make it a priority to develop a space where clients are comfortable being themselves -- free of judgment and criticism. We all have baggage. We will work together to turn our checked bags into carry-ons.
I’m best positioned to work with individuals and couples who are ready to actively engage in the process of change and are looking for practical, solution-focused support. Many of my clients experience anxiety, depression, or ADHD-related challenges—such as feeling overwhelmed, stuck, unfocused, or emotionally drained—and want tools to better manage their thoughts, emotions, and daily functioning. I also work with couples who are motivated to improve communication, rebuild connection, and navigate conflict in a more constructive way. Whether clients are feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or caught in repeating patterns, I help them move toward greater clarity, collaboration, and emotional closeness. My clients are typically open to self-reflection and ready to try new strategies. They may not have everything figured out, but they have a desire to feel better, function more effectively, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives or relationships.

This is my first time ever trying therapy so I had no idea what to expect but she definitely made me feel more comfortable than I was going into it. I didn’t feel judged or pressured to speak about anything. She kind of let me express as much or as little as I wanted to and helped guide me through the process.

My partner and I began couples therapy with Dr. Taijah Davis before getting married, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Dr. Davis served as a compassionate and thoughtful middle ground for us—she listened without judgment and created a safe space where we could express ourselves openly. With her guidance, we were able to better understand each other’s perspectives and strengthen our communication.
