New to Grow
I am a graduate of Liberty University with two master’s degrees. My Master’s of Religion and Christian Leadership allows me to help people navigate spiritual concerns, and my Master’s of Professional Counseling allows me to better help others discover insight into their lives and how to develop holistic, working solutions. I went back to school for these programs after getting married and having kids, so I’m no stranger to stress. I have been working in the counseling environment providing services in a variety of settings for over 14 years and have been a licensed counselor since 2015. I believe therapy should provide more than a place to talk, it should equip you with practical tools to create meaningful, lasting change. I work predominately with adult males experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, depression, and major life transitions, helping them better understand the patterns that keep them feeling overwhelmed and develop healthier ways to respond. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to your individual goals, creating a supportive environment where you can build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and move forward with greater confidence. I would love to be invited into your story!
During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another and developing a clear understanding of what brings you to therapy. I'll ask about your current concerns, relevant personal history, relationships, work, and any factors that may be contributing to your stress or emotional well-being. Together, we'll identify your goals for therapy and begin creating a plan that fits your needs. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the session, and my goal is for you to leave with a better understanding of your situation, a clear direction for treatment, and confidence that we're working toward meaningful, practical change.
My approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. I strive to create an environment where clients feel heard, respected, and challenged to grow. Rather than simply talking about problems, we work together to understand the patterns driving them and develop concrete skills that can be applied between sessions. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation to help clients improve emotional regulation, manage stress more effectively, and make lasting changes. Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, depression, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you build resilience and create meaningful, sustainable progress.
My ideal clients are adult males who are ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful, lasting changes. They may be experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, depression, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, and often feel overwhelmed despite doing their best to manage everything on their own. Many are professionals, caregivers, military members, veterans, or others balancing significant responsibilities who want more than temporary relief—they want practical strategies to improve their emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, build resilience, and create a healthier, more balanced life.
I identify as
Christian Counseling
For clients who desire it, I offer Christian counseling by integrating biblical principles with evidence-based therapy. My approach respects each client's individual beliefs and values while drawing from established therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, we can explore how faith, prayer, Scripture, forgiveness, hope, and purpose may support the healing process when they align with your goals. Christian counseling is always client-directed, I never assume or impose faith-based interventions, but I am prepared to incorporate them in a thoughtful, clinically appropriate manner for those who request them. I believe faith can be a meaningful source of hope, resilience, and healing. When requested, we may incorporate prayer, Scripture, and discussions of spiritual growth into the counseling process alongside proven therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the primary approaches I use to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, examine how they influence emotional well-being, and develop healthier, more balanced ways of responding to life's challenges. CBT is practical, goal-oriented, and focused on building skills that clients can use outside of sessions to reduce anxiety, manage stress, improve mood, and create lasting change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides practical skills to help clients manage intense emotions, navigate stress, and improve relationships. I use DBT techniques to strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness, helping clients respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by stress, struggling with anxiety, or finding it difficult to cope with life's challenges, DBT offers tools that can increase resilience and support lasting emotional well-being.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is an important part of my approach because understanding why we think, feel, and behave the way we do can be a powerful catalyst for change. I help clients learn how factors such as stress, emotions, relationships, habits, and the brain's response to life experiences influence mental health. By combining education with practical therapeutic strategies, clients gain greater insight into their challenges and develop the knowledge and skills needed to make informed, lasting changes in their daily lives.
