Hi, I'm Laurie. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing while feeling supported, challenged when appropriate, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I understand that everyone's story is unique, so I tailor therapy to each person's needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I integrate evidence-based techniques with practical tools that clients can use in their daily lives. Life has taught me that resilience doesn't mean never struggling—it means learning how to move through difficult seasons with support and self-compassion. I bring that perspective into my work by meeting clients where they are and helping them build on their strengths. Whether you're seeking relief from stress, greater confidence, or a deeper understanding of yourself, I'm committed to helping you reach your goals in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, my priority is getting to know you—not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, but also your strengths, goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We'll talk about what's been going on in your life, any important background information, and what feels most important to address right now. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and there's no pressure to share more than you're ready to. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences, answer any questions you have about therapy, and work with you to identify goals that feel meaningful and achievable. By the end of our first session, you'll have a better understanding of how I work, and we'll begin creating a plan that is tailored to your unique needs and priorities.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the strengths I bring to therapy is my collaborative approach. I often use the analogy that my client is the driver, and I'm the navigator. You know your life better than anyone else, and you remain in control of where you want to go. My role isn't to take the wheel or tell you what to do—it's to help you identify the destination, navigate obstacles, consider different routes, and adjust the course when life throws unexpected detours. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable exploring challenges while also being encouraged to grow. I tailor each session to your individual needs, using evidence-based approaches and practical tools that fit your goals and values. My hope is that you leave therapy feeling more confident in your ability to navigate life's challenges long after our work together has ended.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adolescents and adults who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change, even if they're not sure where to start. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, low self-esteem, life transitions, relationship challenges, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, misunderstood, or emotionally exhausted. Some are looking for practical strategies to manage stress and emotions, while others want to improve relationships, build confidence, or gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Whether you're seeking tools to navigate current challenges or a safe space to process life's experiences, I'm here to help you move toward your goals at a pace that feels right for you. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you're open to exploring new perspectives and willing to take small, meaningful steps toward growth, we'll work together to find the path that best fits your needs.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

I use Brainspotting as a gentle, brain-body approach to help clients process difficult emotions, trauma, anxiety, and other experiences that may feel "stuck." Rather than focusing only on talking through a problem, Brainspotting uses specific eye positions to access deeper areas of the brain where emotional experiences are stored. During a Brainspotting session, I guide you through the process at a pace that feels comfortable and safe. You remain in control throughout the session, and we work together to notice what comes up without forcing anything. Many clients find that Brainspotting helps them process experiences more deeply, reduce emotional distress, and gain greater insight and resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or other challenges, and replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that focuses on building skills you can use in your everyday life. During our sessions, we'll work together to develop coping strategies, improve problem-solving skills, and practice new ways of responding to life's challenges. My goal is to help you leave therapy with tools that increase confidence, resilience, and your ability to navigate difficult situations long after our work together has ended.
