New to Grow
HI! I'm April, a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges with compassion, honesty and support. My approach blends evidence-based techniques like CBT & EFT with genuine human connection to help clients feel understood, empowered and capable of lasting change. I strive to create a warm, collaborative space where healing begins and growth blooms-helping clients move toward the person they were always meant to be!!
Your first session with me is a relaxed, supportive space where I simply get to know you! It's truly an explorative session where I find out what has brought you to therapy. We'll talk about your current concerns, personal history, goals for therapy and how I can best help you reach these goals. One thing I am very passionate about is making sure you feel comfortable with me; therapeutic rapport is very important in building trust. I look forward to building a collaborative plan to assist you with healing and growth!!
I find myself to be a collaborative therapist. I ask questions, challenge and like to find the source of issues so they don't return. Therapy is not easy but it is essential in growth, discovery and healing. I push when necessary and provide an empathetic space for vulnerabilities. Lastly, I find positives within growth, and YES...I do laugh in sessions ;)
**I love to work with women by helping them to see their inner strength, confidence and heal from body image issues. **I also work with the LGBTGIA+ community in letting their voice be heard; assist in assertiveness, courage and self-worth. **Lastly I love working with couples with communication, intimacy, and conflict. I became a therapist to help people bloom into their true selves, to find their joy and overcome hardships they encounter in their lives.

Eclectic
There are many different modalities which can be useful when working with clients. I have been educated in a variety of these modalities and utilize what is in the best interest of my clients.
Couples Counseling
I was trained specifically with couples therapy both in my Masters program along with my experience in practicum and internship. I recognize the importance of allowing both individuals to be heard and seen in order to best assist the couple in their relational stresses, issues or complications. I find attachment - style and use of the Gottman method to be extremely helpful.
