Yulissa Vera

LCSW, 14 years of experience

About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience in the field. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University and continued post-grad education at NYU for advanced assessment and diagnosing. I'm an empathetic, warm, and inclusive therapist dedicated to helping clients navigate their challenges. Within my practice, I honor my client's autonomy while helping them grow with the strengths they already have and the ones they've yet to discover.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

From our first session to our last, I strive to provide a consistent and nonjudgmental space. Our first session will focus on gathering information (intake) to better understand your needs and goals. While this session may feel more structured, I try to keep it as relaxed as possible. This is a crucial process as it gives me a starting point for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I connect with people of all walks of life. My authenticity and transparency help clients build strong therapeutic alliances with me quickly. I believe knowledge is power, and I incorporate psychoeducation into our sessions to help clients better understand how experiences and positionality impact various aspects of their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients seeking a safe, supportive, and affirming space to explore their identity and challenges. I primarily serve neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQIA2S+ community, and those navigating personal life transitions or healing from past trauma.
