(he/him)
I am a double board-certified psychiatrist specializing in both general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. My practice focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders. My approach is patient-centered and integrative, combining medication management with therapeutic approaches such as motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and other evidence-based treatments. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and supported while working toward improved mental health, recovery, and overall well-being.
During our first session, we will focus on getting to know you, your experiences, and your goals for treatment. This initial meeting includes a thorough assessment of your mental health, any substance use concerns, medical history, and current life challenges. We will discuss your expectations, identify priorities, and explore the best treatment approach for your unique needs. If appropriate, we will also review medication options, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders. The first session is a safe, supportive space where you can share your story, ask questions, and begin building a collaborative plan toward improved mental health, recovery, and overall well-being.

Expertise in MAT: I am skilled in prescribing and managing medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, supporting safe and effective recovery. Second Opinions: I provide thorough, objective second opinions to help clients better understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and the best path forward for their mental health and recovery.

Motivational Interviewing
I offer Motivational Interviewing, a collaborative and client-centered counseling approach designed to help individuals explore and strengthen their own motivation for change. This method focuses on understanding each person’s goals, values, and challenges while supporting them in resolving ambivalence about behavioral changes. Motivational Interviewing is especially helpful for individuals working on lifestyle changes, substance use recovery, treatment engagement, and improving overall mental health. Through empathetic listening, open dialogue, and evidence-based techniques, I help clients build confidence, clarify their goals, and develop practical steps toward meaningful change.
Integrative
Integrative Therapy I offer Integrative Therapy, a holistic and flexible approach that combines techniques from multiple evidence-based therapeutic models to meet the unique needs of each individual. Rather than using a single method, integrative therapy allows treatment to be tailored to the person’s emotional, psychological, and behavioral concerns. This approach may incorporate elements from cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and other therapeutic methods. By addressing the whole person—thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences—integrative therapy helps clients gain insight, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.
Supportive
Supportive Therapy I offer Supportive Therapy, a therapeutic approach focused on providing emotional support, encouragement, and practical guidance during difficult life experiences. This therapy helps individuals strengthen their coping skills, build resilience, and improve overall emotional well-being. Supportive therapy involves active listening, validation of feelings, and helping clients manage stress, relationships, and daily challenges. The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their concerns, gain confidence, and develop healthier ways of coping with life’s difficulties.
Compassion Focused
Compassion-Focused Therapy I offer Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), an approach designed to help individuals develop self-compassion, reduce self-criticism, and build emotional resilience. This therapy supports people who experience high levels of shame, guilt, or harsh self-judgment. Compassion-Focused Therapy integrates elements of cognitive, behavioral, and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients cultivate kindness toward themselves and others. Through guided exercises, reflective discussions, and compassion-building techniques, clients learn to manage difficult emotions, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop a more supportive inner dialogue.
