Hello! I am a licensed therapist with over 10 years of experience. I specialize in working with adults and teens (age 13+) who struggle with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationship issues, and trauma. I work with individuals experiencing stress from work and career decisions, life transitions, relationships, everyday demands of living, and traumatic experiences. Whatever you're struggling with, your experience is real and valid and you deserve the time and space to improve your life. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will review your reasons to coming to therapy to help up come up with goals of therapy and we will review your history to better understand how it affects who you are and how you move throughout the world. Everyone’s goals are unique and deserve an individualized approach. In my work, I draw from evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR to support meaningful change. My approach is direct but grounded in a trusting relationship and in a space where you can feel comfortable peeling back the layers and moving toward the change you seek.

Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my client-centered approach. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you or your teen can dive into challenges, grow, and work toward a more fulfilling life. For over 10 years, I have provided mental health care and therapy in almost every setting imaginable- hospitals, ERs, outpatient clinics, primary care, and residential. These experiences have given me a thorough understanding of diagnoses, crisis management, and systems.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This therapy is generally the most used because it targets both behaviors and thoughts in order to change mood and emotions. It examines negative thought patterns and behaviors that may contribute to low mood or other negative symptoms.

EMDR

This is a specific manualized therapy for trauma involving bilateral stimulation through eye movement or audio to desensitize you to the emotional distress of the traumatic event or memory.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

This is a therapy uses skills to increase emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, and distress tolerance.

Trauma Informed Care

This framework allows for understanding of patterns and behaviors in the context of trauma history asking the question 'what happened to you' rather than 'what's wrong with you'.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This therapy uses mindfulness-based techniques to decrease avoidance of negative or difficult emotions while increasing flexibility in order to makes steps towards your own future goals.
