Hello! My name is Tiffany and I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in providing trauma-informed and survivor-centered care to clients impacted by sexual violence, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, stalking, and complex intergenerational/developmental trauma. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University in Social Work and Theater and a Master's degree in Social Work from NYU with a specialization in Integrated Youth Behavioral Health. My experience also consists of providing individual therapy for children and adolescents struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, suicidal ideation/self-harm, grief and bereavement, bullying, and complex trauma. In addition to my work with children and adolescents, I have experience providing family therapy and parent counseling to families needing additional support in supporting their child and/or in improving current family dynamics present within the home.
Clients can expect me to utilize a person centered and collaborative approach to treatment. This means that I am an equal partner in supporting you along your healing journey. You can expect me to ask questions to illicit further insight into your challenges, provide opportunities to expand your knowledge and understanding of your symptoms, and support you in identifying helpful coping strategies to utilize outside of session. I have a great deal of empathy and compassion for my clients and their healing.
Treatment methods and tools that I use include but aren't limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed therapy, person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, gestalt therapy, and creative arts therapies (drama, art, music, dance).
I completed 80+ hours of training to receive my certification as a sexual violence and domestic violence crisis response advocate in 2015. In 2020, I became re-certified as a sexual assault counselor in California through Rape Trauma Services (RTS). I have 5+ years of experience in providing crisis counseling and direct therapeutic support to survivors of power based personal violence and their families from various backgrounds and cultures. In addition, I have specific knowledge and experience supporting survivors with developmental disabilities, and survivors within the LGBTQIA+ community.
