(she/her)
I’m a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience, specializing in women’s wellness and college student support. Early in life, I was drawn to this work after navigating my own personal growth during college, which gave me a deep empathy for young adults facing uncertainty. I bring a steady, compassionate presence, blending straightforward guidance with deep relational understanding. My approach is rooted in trust—I take time to build a safe, collaborative space, especially with women and students who often feel unheard in their academic or personal journeys. By integrating trauma-focused modalities like ART, EMDR, somatic therapy, ACT and DBT, I help my clients understand themselves on a deeper level. The result is not just relief from symptoms, but a lasting sense of confidence, self-empowerment, and stronger, healthier relationships that make a real difference in their lives.
In our first session, I really want you to feel at ease. I’ll spend time getting to know you—what brought you here, what your goals are, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll walk you through the process, including how we’ll use ART, EMDR, somatic work, ACT and DBT. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can start to explore and heal at your own pace.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to build deep, meaningful relationships with my clients, especially women and college students who are navigating major life transitions. I bring a rich combination of straightforward, practical guidance and deep compassion, creating a safe space for exploration and growth. With many years of experience working in college institutions, I have an in-depth understanding of the unique pressures students face. I use a relational approach, meaning I don’t just focus on symptoms—I engage with each client at a deeper level, helping them understand their emotions, patterns, and strengths. By integrating trauma-informed modalities like ART, EMDR, somatic work, ACT and DBT, I help clients not only heal from past wounds but also build lasting resilience and self-trust. As a result, clients leave with a deeper sense of confidence, better relationships, and the tools they need to thrive.
My ideal client is a college woman who’s navigating the whirlwind of classes, social life, and the big “what am I doing with my life?” questions. I’m best at working with smart, driven students who feel a bit adrift—whether it’s anxiety about the future, navigating relationships, or balancing self-care with success. I bring a fun, down-to-earth energy—like a big sister or a personal hype squad—so we can explore challenges, celebrate wins, and build confidence for whatever comes next.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I see Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a foundational skill set that everyone can benefit from. At its core, DBT blends acceptance and change strategies, helping clients regulate intense emotions, tolerate distress, and build more effective interpersonal skills. I often see DBT as a bedrock because it equips clients with practical tools—like mindfulness and emotion regulation—that support them in all aspects of life. By mastering these skills, clients develop a greater sense of balance, confidence, and the ability to handle life’s challenges more effectively.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a powerful complement to traditional cognitive behavioral approaches. ACT, often considered a "new wave" of CBT, helps clients accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment, while committing to values-driven actions. Instead of trying to eliminate distressing thoughts, ACT empowers clients to build psychological flexibility—so they can live in alignment with their core values, even in the presence of discomfort. Through ACT, clients learn to relate to their experiences differently, fostering resilience, clarity, and a more purposeful life.
EMDR
In my practice, I use EMDR specifically tailored for complex trauma, which often arises from prolonged or repeated adversity. By guiding clients through bilateral stimulation—whether through eye movements or tactile cues—I help them process fragmented and overwhelming memories. Neuroscience shows that this reprocessing allows the brain to integrate these experiences, reducing their grip and helping clients feel safer in their bodies. My approach is deeply attuned to each person’s unique history, ensuring they have the support and stability needed to heal complex wounds at a pace that honors their resilience and strength. I also use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as a dynamic tool for rapid relief from distressing memories and symptoms. ART combines guided imagery, bilateral stimulation, and relaxation techniques to help clients process and replace distressing images with positive, calm ones. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART often yields results in just a few sessions. I’ve seen clients overcome long-standing anxiety, shame, and trauma by rewiring how they experience these memories. With ART, clients gain relief faster, and they leave with a stronger sense of safety and empowerment in their daily lives.
Somatic
In my practice, I integrate somatic therapy as a core part of the healing process. I believe that bilateral movement, such as gentle tapping or guided side-to-side motions, helps regulate the nervous system—a process supported by neuroscientific research. By guiding clients through somatic exercises, which can resemble mindful yoga or body awareness practices, we bring their focus into the present moment. This allows them to release stored tension, calm the body’s stress response, and reconnect with a sense of safety and balance. By incorporating these somatic exercises, I help clients access their inner wisdom, allowing them to heal not just cognitively but also through the wisdom of their bodies, creating lasting regulation and empowerment.
