New to Grow
I’m a licensed therapist with extensive experience helping individuals work through substance use, anxiety, emotional regulation, and major life changes. I use a blend of evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, and make meaningful, lasting changes. My style is supportive, direct, and focused on helping you move forward in a way that aligns with your goals.
During your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you’re hoping to change or improve. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is a starting point at your pace. We’ll also talk about your goals and what you’d like to get out of therapy so we can begin shaping a plan that feels practical and aligned with your needs. I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel comfortable with the process. Most importantly, the first session is about creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. By the end, you can expect to have a clearer sense of direction and what working together will look like moving forward.
What stands out about my approach is the balance between being highly practical and deeply individualized. I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach—I integrate evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing and tailor them to each client’s needs, goals, and stage of change. Clients often find my style both supportive and direct. I focus on helping you not just understand patterns, but actively change them through concrete skills, accountability, and real-world application. At the same time, I prioritize a nonjudgmental, collaborative environment where you feel respected and heard. I also take a whole-person approach, incorporating not just mental and emotional health, but also factors like lifestyle, stress, and—when meaningful to you—values and purpose. This tends to lead to more sustainable outcomes, including improved emotional regulation, clearer decision-making, and lasting behavior change.
I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults experiencing challenges related to substance use, co-occurring mental health conditions, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. I work effectively with individuals who may feel ambivalent about change, are navigating complex stressors, or have experienced repeated treatment episodes and are seeking a more personalized and effective approach. My practice is particularly well-suited for clients who are motivated to build insight, develop practical coping skills, and improve overall functioning, even if they are early in the change process. I work well with individuals who benefit from a structured, skills-based approach while also valuing a supportive, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I also support clients who are focused on improving emotional regulation, relationship dynamics, and decision-making, as well as those seeking to align their behaviors with their personal values and long-term goals. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, making it a strong fit for clients who are open to active participation in the therapeutic process and are looking for both accountability and support.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge cognitive distortions, develop more balanced thinking patterns, and implement behavioral strategies that support symptom reduction. Interventions often include cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skills-building to improve coping, problem-solving, and overall functioning.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate DBT skills training into sessions, focusing on the four core areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I use these skills to help clients build emotional stability, tolerate distress without engaging in harmful behaviors, and improve communication and relationship patterns.
Eclectic
I draw from a range of therapeutic tools and interventions depending on the client’s presenting concerns and responsiveness to treatment. While grounded in evidence-based practices, this approach allows for flexibility in adapting strategies to best support engagement, retention, and outcomes.
Integrative
I intentionally blend interventions from CBT, DBT, MI, and other modalities based on each client’s presentation, preferences, and treatment goals. In addition to evidence-based clinical strategies, I incorporate discussions around physical health (e.g., sleep, nutrition, movement) and, when aligned with the client’s values, spiritual or meaning-based components to support overall well-being. This allows for a more comprehensive and individualized approach that evolves as the client progresses in treatment.
Motivational Interviewing
I use MI techniques such as open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summarizing (OARS) to support clients in identifying their own reasons for change. I focus on eliciting “change talk,” strengthening commitment, and maintaining a nonjudgmental, collaborative stance that respects client autonomy.
