Hello and welcome! I’m Sabrina. I’m a licensed psychologist who helps people work through challenges like anxiety, stress, trauma, and the feeling of being overwhelmed or stretched too thin. I often work with parents navigating the emotional ups and downs of caregiving, youth facing big questions and feelings, and individuals trying to feel more at ease with themselves and their relationships. In my work with clients, I spend time exploring the significant experiences that have shaped them, both past and present. Together, we identify patterns that may no longer be serving them, whether in how they think, how they relate to others, or how they care for themselves. From there, we build and practice more helpful ways of thinking, relating, and responding. Outside of the therapy room, I am also a professor who teaches and conducts research on mental health and resilience, and a parent to young children. These parts of my life help me stay connected to both the science and the lived reality of navigating life’s challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in both evidence and deep respect for your lived experience. If this sounds like a good fit, I would love to connect and see how we can work together to support your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll start by talking about what brought you in and what you’re hoping might feel different in your life or relationships. We’ll spend some time identifying your goals for therapy so we have a shared sense of direction. From there, I’ll ask questions to get a fuller picture of your experiences, including your values, relationships, stressors, cultural context, and the ways you’ve learned to cope. You don’t need to have all the answers or prepare anything. My goal is for you to feel safe, supported, and understood as we begin our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients often share that they feel seen, understood, and safe in our work together. I’m thoughtful about how identity, early experiences, and systemic factors influence the way people relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care and supported by doctoral training in clinical psychology, which helps me integrate research, assessment, and evidence-based practices in a flexible, personalized way. I’ve worked across a wide range of settings, including schools, medical centers, and community clinics, with people navigating many different kinds of challenges.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work well with people who have lived through difficult experiences and are looking for a way to feel more calm, steady, and in control of their emotions. Many of my clients come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are trying to make sense of who they are within the context of family, culture, and past experiences. Some are parents who want to raise emotionally healthy kids while also navigating their own healing. Others have grown up between cultures or feel the weight of balancing multiple identities, roles, and expectations. If you’re feeling the impact of any of this in your daily life or relationships, therapy can be a space to reflect, reset, and move forward with more clarity, calm, and balance.

My treatment methods

Integrative

In my opinion, no one approach fits every person or every situation. Therefore, I use an integrative treatment model, which means I draw from several evidence-based approaches—like dialectical behavioral therapy, psychoanalytic therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy—to create a treatment plan that fits you. Together, we’ll figure out what feels helpful and effective for your unique needs, and adjust as we go.

Trauma Informed Care

I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, which means I recognize how past experiences such as early relationship challenges, identity-based trauma, systemic oppression, or overwhelming life events can continue to influence your emotions, behaviors, and sense of safety. Together, we will work to process these experiences in a way that helps reduce their impact. This approach centers emotional safety and collaboration and supports healing by helping you build insight, regain a sense of control, and move forward with greater ease and resilience.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Cultural identity plays a big role in how we experience the world, and I bring that understanding into our work together. In culturally sensitive therapy, we explore how your background, values, and experiences with systems or community shape how you relate to yourself and others. This approach centers your lived experience and recognizes the strengths you carry.
