During your first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and discussing the concerns that brought you to therapy. We will review your background, current challenges, strengths, and goals for treatment. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about the therapy process. Together, we will begin developing a plan that addresses your needs and supports the changes you would like to make. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and working toward your goals.
My approach combines compassion, accountability, and evidence-based treatment to help clients create meaningful and lasting change. I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships while helping clients identify their strengths, develop practical coping skills, and take responsibility for their choices. With experience working in mental health, substance abuse treatment, trauma, and the juvenile justice system, I understand the unique challenges many individuals and families face. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, heal, and move forward, and I work collaboratively with clients to help them reach their goals.
I am best positioned to serve adolescents, adults, and families who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, substance use, or legal challenges and are motivated to make positive changes in their lives. Many of my clients are seeking support with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, anger management, substance abuse, sexual behavior concerns, or involvement with the juvenile justice system. I work well with individuals who want to improve their decision-making, develop healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and take responsibility for their actions. My approach is focused on helping clients identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful, lasting changes that support their overall well-being and personal goals.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is a practical, goal-focused approach that helps clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. In treatment, the therapist works with the client to identify negative or unhelpful thinking patterns, examine how those thoughts affect emotions and actions, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. CBT often includes teaching coping skills, improving problem-solving abilities, and encouraging positive behavior changes. Clients are typically given activities or homework to practice between sessions, helping them apply what they learn in real-life situations. The overall goal is to help clients make lasting changes that improve their emotional well-being and daily functioning.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Therapy helps clients focus on their strengths and the changes they want to make rather than spending most of the session talking about the problem. The therapist works with the client to identify what is already working in their life, past successes, and practical steps they can take to reach their goals. Questions are used to help clients recognize their progress, build on their strengths, and develop realistic solutions. This approach encourages hope, increases confidence, and helps clients make positive changes by focusing on achievable goals and existing resources.
Trauma Informed Care
In therapy, a trauma-informed approach means understanding that many behaviors, emotions, and reactions may be connected to past traumatic experiences. The therapist focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment where the client feels heard, respected, and in control of their treatment. Sessions are conducted at a pace that is comfortable for the client, with an emphasis on building trust, teaching coping skills, and helping the client recognize their strengths. The goal is to help clients process difficult experiences without feeling overwhelmed while supporting their healing and overall well-being.
