Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Within your first sessions my clients may expect a warm greeting, explanation of tasks for this initial session, how therapy can impact them cognitive-emotionally, and completion of an initial diagnostic evaluation to form the baseline functioning to guide individualized treatment planning. Client may ask questions for clarity of the therapeutic process and expectations of each session in a most respectful and patient manner.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring strengths of over 50 seasoned years of life experiences overcoming life adversities, extensive Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor training accompanied with understanding of human behaviors that empower and disempower and a teaching style coupled with humor to therapeutically disarm the intensity of emotional pains in some situations. My patient, straight-talk, and honest approach to elicit healing have often kept clients remain engaged in therapy sessions until they have demonstrated consistent progressive changes bringing cognitive-emotional relief most often than not.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is one who demonstrates moderate to high lifestyle functioning and wants straight-talk, collaborative, strengths-based approach to their structured sessions. Client and counseling may be using specific treatment concerns of co-dependency, anxiety, divorce, grief and bereavement, trauma-informed process, relationship issues,.These clients are able to independently self regulate appropriately for a telehealth platform, complete and engage in discussing therapeutic homework assignments, be motivated for treatment and open-minded to therapeutic feedback for identifying emotions and triggers to their own distress, employed or in school, demonstrate resilience, have some level of self-awareness and insight into their symptoms or behaviors, demonstrate the independent use of baseline effective coping strategies, open-minded to learning new skills and change thoughts with behaviours, and demonstrate ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally. Client will further demonstrate therapeutic compliance with prescribed medication and/ or behavioral modification, engage in building therapeutic rapport for developing problem-solving skills, and maintain lifestyle responsibility roles above baseline lifestyle functioning.
