Hi my name is Jessica and I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been in mental health practice for ten years. I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work with a focus on Direct Practice. I have a wide variety of experience in the clinical field. It is my passion to help people get out of the dark phases of their life they are facing and forge a path to a more positive future.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will be a get to know you session. You will give a brief personal history, explain why you are seeking treatment, and discuss how sessions will work-- should you choose to continue. You will receive a chance to ask your own questions and we will set the goals for your treatment and discuss expectations of the treatment/sessions. Further sessions we will dig deeper into your history, your present issues, and find root causes. We will then work together to formulate a helpful treatment plan to help you achieve your goals, find coping skills, and so that you can reach a healthier place over-all. Therapy is a journey to finding a healthier tomorrow for yourself today.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In terms of my strengths as a therapist I always strive to create a empathetic environment where clients feel comfortable to explore their mental health. I am an active listener, warm/non-judgmental, optimistic, and dedicated/commited to developing a helpful treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT methods for years in my experience with clinical work. In my experience it has proven to be helpful in helping to manage reoccurring negative thoughts and issues with depression/anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect to each other. We’ll then use that information to help retrain your thoughts and lead you to positive coping skills and a better outlook on life.
